My little girl Mellow was admitted to VRCC after suffering from focal seizures for over an hour last week (9/1). VRCC indicated she would be seen by their neurologist later that morning, and depending on her case, she might be transferred over to their office (across the street).nnWhile there was a communication breakdown later that morning, I was able to confirm she had been moved over to Dr. Lane’s care and was being evaluated. Brie was super helpful, and also very understanding about the emotional rollercoaster I was on. Through Brie I coordinated visiting Mellow that afternoon, as well as talking with Dr. Lane about what was happening.nnWhen I arrived, Brie came out and reviewed some information with me. She brought Mellow out, and I got to see she was doing ok. Fortunately she had no more seizure activity since I had dropped her at VRCC around 2:30 that morning. Dr. Lane came out and explained what he had seen and what he was recommending. Mel’s case was interesting because the duration of the focal seizures. He identified a potential right cortical deficit, but also explained he wouldn’t be able to say for sure if it was related to the seizure or not - the only way to confirm would be with an MRI and spinal tap if everything looked clear on the MRI (meaning we could rule out tumors or other disease).nnI agreed to and signed paperwork for the procedures, and Mellow was scheduled for both the next morning. I got to spend about 45 minutes with her that afternoon for which I was extremely grateful. It’s one thing to be told your dog is doing ok, and another thing to actually witness it yourself.nnThe following morning Brie called me to let me know Mel was about to have her procedure and to expect a call from Dr. Lane in a few hours. When I got the call later that day, it was with good news - no abnormalities were detected during the MRI, her spinal fluid was clear and was being sent in for antibody and protein analysis. Mel was awake, and would be ready to go home later that day.nnWhen I arrived to pick her up Alyssa walked walked me through diagnosis, myoclonic discharge, and next steps (including med schedule and 10-day follow up appointment). Megan (I think, I’m sorry if I got your name wrong!) worked through payment with me. Everyone was awesome and super understanding working with a slightly neurotic dog mom who asked a ton of questions.nnI am hopeful we get my girl’s condition under control and find the right balance of meds. I look forward to continuing to work with Dr. Lane and his amazing staff in the future.

I've seen some negative reviews here, and wholeheartedly disagree. We took our sweet pup to multiple vets where they were unable to tell us anything. Immediately after taking Canyon here, they were extremely helpful, and suggested that we do an MRI. They found inflammation of the brain and immediately started to treat. Dr. Lane called us personally multiple times to discuss what was going on, explain the treatment, and answer many of the questions in a time of great uncertainty. Great team here from what we can tell.

This is the same review as on VRCC. My dog is in their neurological center/hospital right now. He's old and they are treating him like a king. They are also treating me like the worried family that I am, and even with COVID19 affecting everything they are as timely as they can be, they have me visit my poor boy as much as possible, and they are giving him fabulous care. This is my second dog I have taken to them and trust Rocky Mountain Neurological Center and Dr. Lane completely. Yes it's expensive, but you get what you pay for. If you needed spinal surgery would you shop around for the best price?

I wish I could give separate ratings depending on who we were talking about. But, I will say this review is long overdue.nnMy dog Quincy started having seizures December 2019. After our regular vet ran some tests, we were referred to Dr. Lane. We started seeing him in February 2020.nnDr. Lane was wonderful and seemed to truly care about Quincy. After our consult he said we should get in for a MRI. The wait time between the two was only Thursday - Tuesday. He determined that Quincy did indeed have a brain tumor. He started Quincy on a treatment plan and we had several checkups.nnThe daytime techs were always friendly and very helpful. The overnight techs, not so helpful. They seemed to be the bottom of the barrel unfortunately and when it came down to it, those ended up being the people I really needed to talk to at the end of Quincy's life.nnUnfortunately, Quincy ended up having issues un-related to the brain tumor. He had a mass on his front leg that he never quite got past and then he ended up having pancreatitis. We lost Quincy in April. He had been there for a few days and it happened in the middle of the night. So I was dealing with one of the overnight techs who didn't seem to know much of anything. I always had to wait until the following day before I could get an answer about anything (leading up to Quincys death anyway).nnI do agree with previous reviews that the receptionists weren't very helpful & good luck getting past them much of the time.nnBasically, Dr. Lane is great... his daytime techs are great... could work on the receptionists and definitely needs better overnight techs.nnIf it came down to it and we had another dog who needed a neurologist, I would probably still come back here since at least the doc is good!

Highly recommend this vet practice. Brought in my dog for seizures after referral from my vet. The staff on the phone, the vet techs, and Dr. Lane were all excellent and professional. Covid precautions were in place, so I couldn't accompany my dog but the staff was well oiled in their system and curbside service. The vet spent time by my car answering questions and explaining, didn't appear rushed though their office is busy. The vet tech Katy also spent time explaining the meds and answering questions.nI felt confident that my dog was in safe hands and getting proper evaluations.
