The staff here were rude to me not once, not twice, but three separate times at this location. They spoke in a plainly condescending manner for no reason whatsoever— I can understand one or two experiences where a Banfield representative may have been having a bad day, or had something personal happen in their lives that they simply couldn’t leave at home upon coming in for their shifts. But three consistent times where they were rude, tried to upsell us, and didn’t actually fix the issues we came in —and pay a $40 a month membership for them to be able to communicate with us and work towards a solution—we will not return to this location.

We have the monthly plan with Banfield. Have never had a problem at any other location. But today we had an appointment for a routine check up at 10:45 AM. I've never had an appointment take longer then 30 minutes. This one took 3 hours. Completely unacceptable. If it's going to take that long they should say something. Terrible communication.

Saturday, we brought our dog over at 1030 am from our primary vet Banfield in Westminster. Our bulldog had swallowed 2 or more foreign objects that we were unaware of. The x-ray showed they were in his stomach. Our primary vet said they were booked up for surgery for the day but this vet could get out dog in for surgery. We arrived with the idea they would take him right back to surgery as our primary told us the prognosis was good if get got surgery quickly. We called at 1230 pm assuming that he had already been taken back to surgery and was in recovery. The girl on the phone stated the MD wanted to give him some fluids to stabilize him and they stated he would be going back to surgery at 130 pm. I called the vet back asking if he needed so many fluids to stabilize him or if it was because they didn't have room for his surgery right away. The girl said no he needs the fluids. We waited patiently and received a call at 204 pm stating Yoda was now getting anesthesia for surgery. I said you hadn't started surgery yet?? she said no we are getting ready to start. We received a call less than an hour later stating we are so sorry but the case is worse than we anticipated the foreign object is in his intestines (Duodenum) and his intestines have started to necrose (die) in parts. They said they were not equipt to do this surgery and we would have to transfer him with a prognosis of 50% or less of living after this surgery. They also quoted us 7-10,000$$ on top of the $1000 we had already spent. My first problem is lack of communication on the vets side. My second problem is if you cannot get the dog in right away DO NOT offer to accept the case. This outcome could have been very different if our poor 3.5 year old dog did not have to wait over 3 hours to get back into surgery. I am very displeased with the care of our dog while he was at this hospital. Understanding mistakes happen, you caused us the pain of our son, our family being taken from us. Please do a better job of communicating with families. Please do not accept surgical cases that you do not have room for. And please accept responsibility for your mistakes and not make excuses for something so tragic.
