Ballard Family Mortuary

Ballard was very supportive and available during the homegoing service for my brother. He took on the funeral at the fixed rate the state provided as my brother was on ssi and did not have insurance. Some things we decided to do ourselves, but as for the part of the mortuary, they did an excellent job.

Lack of communication from Mr. Ballard. He does not ask for family inputs. He will NOT call you, at all. We too, got a bookmark. Mr. Ballard's poor business ethic, is why it's hard for blacks to support Black business. I will not ever refer anyone to Ballard's Mortuary. If I could give zero stars, I would.

Working with Mr. Ballard for our loved one's funeral and burial was a complete nightmare!!! The funeral was pre-paid, but there were sooo many things that went wrong. Mr. Ballard overcharged for clothing, and the flowers. The program was a joke, it was a bookmark. To top it off, when the family came to see and make sure that everything was correct, it was discovered that the color of the casket was wrong. The specific color that was asked for, was in the bill of sale! We were never asked what we wanted included in the bookmark oh excuse me, program. We had to chase him down to deliver the clothing. There was no car to take the family to the service. Mr. Ballard did not communicate or inquire as to how we wanted the service to go. He didn't seem to want our input. The burial was a disaster!!. Starting from wanting us to meet him at the cemetary! Only when he was confronted did he offer to pick the family up. This also was included in the bill of sale. As anyone knows, the death of a loved one is very painful. You expect the mortician to be experienced and competent, so that you need not be worried about any of the things mentioned above. We saw none of that from Mr. Ballard. My family will never call Mr. Ballard again to handle the funeral for another member of our family.
