I took my sweet almost 17 year old cat Lexie in on a Thursday night and they took her right in. They were very thorough and caring. After not being able to see her Vet and a visit to another Vet hospital a couple weeks before where she was misdiagnosed and given methadone only to be released in the same condition.nThis hospital X-ray and blood work found she had serious health problems and for her age we both agreed that it would have been way too much for her at her age. She suffered enough and was a fighter. Carried on through it all. I’m disabled and she was my companion cat and my other half of my heart ♥ufe0f they let me spend time with her and be there with her through the whole euthanasia. Everything from the beginning to end was explained to me and I felt very comfortable and thankful for all the wonderful care she was given. I’d come back again if needed in a heartbeat. God bless you all for your care with Lexie.nI miss her so very much. Waiting for her ashes now and plaster paw print ud83dudc3e❤ufe0fud83dude4fud83cudffc❤ufe0f
I had a horrible experience at the ER and a horrible experience with a specialist and her team. I brought my kitten in because he experiences extreme bouts of pain that make him aggressive. My normal vet recommended I see a specialist here.nnI ended up taking him to the ER before I could see the specialist. I brought videos of the pain he experiences to best explain it. They didn’t want to see it. Neither did the specialist. Strange to me, you’d think that at least the doctor would want to be able to see what he’s going through. For the hefty consultation fee, fully understanding his issue and watching a 1 minute video doesn’t seem like too much to ask to me.nnThey wanted to do an ultrasound, which I agreed to. They didn’t explain the procedure to me or tell me they would return my kitten shaved and covered in copious amounts of gel. They didn’t find anything or offer me any sort of plan to move forward. My assumption has been that he has tapeworms from his symptoms, and they only offered me fecal tests which are not accurate for checking for tapeworms (stated on the VCA website). I’ve already had the fecal test done by my regular vet.nnAfter talking with the doctor, I got her to prescribe us a dewormer to treat it. They didn’t administer his medication (Drontal, which from my experience has always been dosed by the vet). They gave me the giant pill to force down my tiny kittens throat. I expressed concern about it when they gave him back to me but they didn’t offer to give it to him until I had called and complained and was no longer in the area. I couldn’t get him to take it so, here we are, $800 later. Back to the drawing board.nnWhen I called to complain about my experience, the person at the desk lacked any sort of compassion. I had to argue with her to get her to take notes on what had happened and the condition they returned him to me in for them to bring it up to the vet tech. I would not recommend taking your pet here. Go someplace locally owned where you’re treated with the compassion you and your animal deserve.
Called at 6:40 to let them know I arrived to pick up my dog. Was told to wait outside and he would be right out. Waited for 15 minutes in the freezing cold and then called again. Was told he would be right out and waited another 10 minutes. I hope the surgery they performed on my dog was better than the pickup routine.
Can't say what the service is like. I never made it past the front door. They have a QR code to check your animals in. I checked my cat in at 5:30pm at 7:00pm they called me telling me my cat was next. Someone was suppose to come out to pick up my cat. An hour later no one came out. When I called they said they had other more critical patients and it would be another 30 to 45 mins. When I said I had waited since 5:30 they said I was lucky the wait is usually 6 to 8 hours. NO WAY! I LEFT!!! I KNOW MY CAT'S ISSUE MIGHT HAVE NOT BEEN AN EMERGENCY BUT SHE IS STILL NEEDED TO BE TAKEN CARE IN A LOVING AND PROFESIONAL MATTER. Sadly we didn't find it here. I will take her some place else.
This vet is not cheap, I was hesitant, but the first cat I brought in needed more care than the local vet could give. I was completely impressed with the care, the service and all the assistance they gave us finding affordable meds for her. The doctor and his tech treated both of us with care and concern and now this kitty is doing great.nnSo when my second cat got a growth on her face, I took her to VCA. I was told she had to have all of her teeth removed. Very expensive and It didn't sound like a great idea. The vet showed me pictures and was able to explain why this was necessary, and calm my concerns about a toothless cat. I pulled out the credit card and said go ahead. I had no idea my cat was in such pain until I saw the change in her behavior. All I can say is wow, I feel guilty that I didn't know how bad her teeth were and how negatively it was impacting her. Today she is in great shape and a much calmer and happier kitty.nnYou get what you pay for, not always true, but in respect to the staff at VCA I must say it is. They are great and I can trust that my fur balls are getting great care.nnThank you from Ginalola, Lana Turner, and mom and dad!
