Anguiano Angel DVM

This is the same place as Vacaville Pet Vet Clinic, Inc.nnWe brought our cat in for spraying. Dr. Anguiano Angel took a urinalysis from our cat. He said that he found crystals and that there was high white blood cell count in the sample. Solution: antibiotics plus changing to a prescription diet. Our issues were: the official UA results read 'trace' white blood cells, which can come from inflammation of urinary tract (e.i. multiple attempts getting a sample), infection, OR crystals forming. Dr Anguiano did not share all those possible causes with us, or offer any crystal identification to verify that crystals were present. He wanted us to go on a special diet (supplied by his office) for life. He was unwilling to write us a script to obtain the special diet from a third party, ultimately telling us that he relied on his prescriptions for a good portion of his income. We tried to discuss with him ways to address behavior (as we still felt the spraying was not a medical problem). When we brought up medications to calm our cat, he only suggested benzodiazepines, which are sedative, instead of antidepressants, which can help calm without sedating. We left and sought another opinion. The new vet talked us through the differential for the trace white blood cells in the first lab result. She did a send-out urinalysis lab, which did NOT find any infection or crystals in our cat. She also gave many behavior suggestions to us, and offered several supplements and discussed with us non-sedative anxiety medications. Our cat is doing great with her help. We do not have a high opinion of Dr. Anguiano Angel and we do not ever plan on going back.
