I feel it's important to post this reviewnnOn 2/21 of this year I took my cat to Dr waldman for health visit. He gave him a 100% clean bill of health with exception of fast heart rate stating cat has fast heart rate most likely because he is at vet.nnI then immediately went away for 2 weeks and my sister who was watching Cat said it declined rapidly so I came back to pick him and I called Dr Waldman explaining I needed an emergency appointment for very very sick catnnDr Waldman didn't respond to any of my texts for a few days and did respond to my phone call on emergency line He said not to call emergency number and he had no availabilities but to call early next morning and maybe he would consider seeing him, but he was very busy and doesn't work past 12 on FridaysnnDue to cats dire condition I called another vet.nAfter the second vet ran the full blood work and a thorough physical we found cat had stage 4 renal failure, massively dehydrated, lost a huge amount of weight, had a bad heart condition, suspected neoplasm (cancer) spread from pancreas to kidney along with other conditions. The pancreas was failing and he was unable to digest any fat and vet felt strongly the cat didn't develop all these conditions in the past 2 weeks (2 weeks since I saw Dr Waldman) however they had worsen. The new vet was also very empathetic and competent.nnNeedles to say I will be switching vets and using this new vet for my dogsnnWhat bothers me most is not the fact that he missed my cat was sick and didn't pick up on anything except tachycardia (my cat was older so I understand), and the cat did decline more rapidly after the visit, but that he was so reluctant to give me an emergency appointment to an extremely sickly cat and that I had bringing my dogs to him for yearsnnNeedless to say we couldn't save my beloved cat.

Been with him for 30 years. Cares for your petsnnPets are an extension to your family. When you need the extra help How is there feel no matter when Day or night weekday or weekend. He will diagnose your pet with love and devotion. We need more people like Hal in this world. Thank you again Hal.

I have known Dr. Hal Waldman for over 20 yrs. At the most critical time of our pets lives Hal has come to my house 3 times to making the passing of each cat a peaceful experience for me and my cats. Having at home euthanasia is a blessing. Hal is very compassionate, knowledgeable, honest and caring. You will have wonderful care with Hal that you can afford, his prices are very reasonable. He is well loved in Long Beach and I highly recommend him.
