Banfield Pet Hospital

It's okay. I feel like Banfield is a mill for vets. None ever stay long which is disappointing as the vets never really know your pet. We've never had a very stay longer than a year. They all leave. Their prescription prices are through the roof as well. Only buy your meds from them if you have to. Otherwise order online or get at Costco. Much much less cost!

Great care, always extremely friendly, affordable. My chihuahua needed an emergency dental. Because they have so many locations I was able to get him in within a few days! I've never had a bad experience. I started at a location in Kitsap County which I loved. I moved to Tacoma and went to 4 different vets non of which were as courteous and fast so when I moved to Seattle I got connected back with them in Ballard and am extremely happy I did. My babies are happy, healthy and well cared for with the help of the staff at these vets.

I have been to another Banfield and they were great too. But Jennifer at this location deserves a special shout out. We had to go out of town very suddenly and the airline needed a health certificate. All vets in the area were booked up but Jennifer took the time to understand my situation and provided the services I need to make things easier. She squeezed me in and it still felt my appointment was a real appointment and not just some fly by. Dr. K even called me twice to go over concerns and plans. I highly recommend them.

Everything about my limited interaction with this place was a red flag. Starting with the most minor, that they don't seem to be able to maintain a primary/secondary contact and make sure they are calling the right person. To the far more serious, that they clearly are far more focused on upselling services (primarily their stupid subscription service) than actual pet care. I would not recommend going here. There's another vet I have been to nearby, Urban Animal, which seems much better.

My experience with Banfield is limited to the Queen Anne and Ballard location. At Queen Anne, I’ve had two separate vets (Dr. Wu and Dr. Kongchatree). Dr. Woo has ALWAYS been trust worth and timely when it comes to bringing in my puppy. She provides honest information about my animal and has built up trust with me. Dr. Kongchatree on the other hand always always takes a considerable amount of time with my pet and nearly every visit he says that there is something that I MUST purchase to keep my pet safe. I once brought my puppy in because he had a little diarrhea and just wanted him to get checked up on, Dr. Kongchatree highly recommended that we do an x-ray which cost us $600 and didn’t find anything. A few days after visiting the Ballard location and meeting with a vet I brought my puppy back into the Queen Anne location and got stuck with Dr. Kongchatreee and at that point Kongchatree insisted that an anal gland expression be completed. The previous vet I went to a few days earlier had no concerns of this. Dr. Kongchatree feeds on new puppy owners fears and scares you into purchasing things you don’t need. Now that Dr. Wu has transitioned from this Banfield I will not be returning to Queen Anne as I do not trust this vet anymore. I highly encourage you to avoid any appointments with Dr. Kongchatree, he is not trustworthy and is out to scare you into spending tons of money before ruling out less expensive procedures.
