One of those is the 4,418 ft long Hood River-White Salmon Interstate bridge which was opened in 1924.nnThe Hood River Bridge, also known as White Salmon Bridge is a truss bridge with a vertical lift that spans the Columbia River between Hood River, Oregon and White Salmon, Washington. It connects Interstate 84/U.S. Route 30 on the Oregon side with Washington State Route 14.nnThe bridge is operated as a toll bridge by the Port of Hood River. Currently the tolls are set to:n- $2.00 for a passenger car,n- $1.00 for each additional axle,n- $1.00 for motorcycles.nBicycles and pedestrians are prohibited from crossing the bridge.

Adventurous bridge 9 ft wide Lanesnstraight and narrows , Big trucks are about 8 ft wide .. good driving skills..

Bridge has been paid for 10 fold... But the scenery is incredible!

1924 steel bridge. Very narrow lanes. Open steel roadbed shifts your vehicle slightly side to side as you drive. $2 *cash* fee either direction. Unless you have a pass, approach the toll booth lane.nDon’t expect a friendly attitude from the toll booth person.nWarning: there is no turnaround once you approach the bridge - you are committed.
