Saratoga Veterinary Hospital PC

The veterinary care is great; however, prescriptions, food, and supplements are more than twice the price of other vets. I assumed a supplement I received was prescription only and got home to find the same item was available for purchase on amazon. Saratoga vet’s price was $30. Amazon think is $13. Prescription kidney food purchased at another vet was $1.20 per can and over $2 per can at Saratoga vet. I assume a markup on items, but I do not appreciate getting gouged! I was also charged for a $8.50 without prior approval for a cardboard box because they have a policy that cats need to be in a box. They took the cat in without a box! Again, great vets but a horrible business trying to make as much money as they can.

We have been clients here for what is starting to feel like too long. We never receive calls back and when we follow up after never getting a call back we are given attitude. Every appointment I have to double over my receipt because we are without fail ALWAYS charged for something twice. We have been given the wrong dose of topical Revolution for our rabbits before, luckily I knew to check because of the consistency in errors. Our dog was suffering today and were promised a phone call from a vet and that we NEVER received. At 4:18, almost 20 minutes AFER they closed I received a notification his meds were ready. They did not Call, and now we are a day without meds while our dog cries and whimpers on the floor for the evening. We love Dr. Steeves however we have had absolutely nothing but issues with reception and lack of communication from Supporting staff. Last time we brought both our rabbits in they tried to discharge us and they hadn’t even given us our pets back, They thought we had them in the car- unsettling. Very, very upsetting especially as a former vet assistant.

Truly the best experience. We have an Eclectus parrot. We love him dearly. Chester never talks around strangers, ever. He was so at ease that he talked up a storm during his visit to clip his flight feathers. Yes. We clip his flight feathers so he doesn’t hurt himself.
