Absolutely wonderful vet. All of my dogs go here and will for the rest of my life. Doc is absolutely wonderful and treats the animals with the compassion and respect that they deserve. He is a no nonsense kind of guy that will tell you like it is and get your fur babies feeling better in no time

I very highly recommended that you DO NOT use Pike Animal Hospital. This disrespectful vet had our Lab, who had been our family pet for 12 years, for the entire day. Somehow between keeping our dog for 8 hours, charging us 400$ just for bloodwork and X-rays, he failed to notice the 5 pound tumor on our dogs spleen. The tumor caused our dogs spleen to rupture in which we took to another vet in town, who was amazing and their entire staff treated us with the upmost respect and professionalism. They had to do emergency surgery for which our pup didn’t make it. Aside from overcharging us, and missing the key diagnoses for the situation, he was extremely disrespectful and unprofessional to my wife and I. His passive aggressive, sarcastic remarks all of which regarding money, were almost overwhelming. Not to mention that he didn’t even send any meds home with us to help my dog. Neither myself nor anyone I know in our community will be using this vet ever again. He really needs to do some self reflection and learn how to be respectful and professional all the way around.

We trust Dr. Johnston and his staff with all of our fur babies and are so thankful to have them close to home. Dr. Johnston goes beyond most and takes the time to explain and educate clients. He is fair and just in his pricing and does not perform unnecessary tests/procedures. Dr. Johnston is a caring human being who will treat your pets as if they were his own. I strongly admire his love and passion for animals and am very happy we chose his hospital. You will be too.

Best vet I have ever met. He is honest, passionate, and excellent at his craft. Very straightforward and won’t BS you. I know he and the staff are going to put the health of the animal above everything else. Much thanks to all of the staff at Pike Animal Hospital. Only place I’ll ever take my pets.

I have been Amazed by Dr. Johnston. I’ve never had a vet like Dr. Johnston. He is the most caring Vet that I know and you can see that whenever you talk to him. He loves the animals and treats them as his own. The staff is the best staff I have ever encountered every time I’ve ever needed something they answer my call and are the most polite and kind. They will adjust to your wants whenever you ASK. My last pet to bring them was my female cat who was urinating blood. From the first minute on, Dr. Johnston was completely honest and upfront about her diagnosis. He tried the least invasive treatment first Antibiotics. Which we did for about a month. Me and my Fiancé thought they worked at different points and eventually we had to have surgery. In 30 YEARS of being a vet he has never done surgery on a female cat with kidney stones. Before her surgery he did not know what she had and told us that it could be a tumor or kidney stone we just didn’t know but he narrowed it down to the 2. Dr. Johnston was truly over the top in his care of our baby who’s surgery was a great Success!!! Removal of 2 Kidney stones. He treats your baby as his own by not doing extra procedures like sending off blood for testing because he knows treatment is expensive. If needed he will do whatever is necessary because he treats them as his own!!
