Montgomery county permit office is a terrible place to finished permit process. Most employees aren't corrective and not willing to help you. There is no service according to your budget. They're always working for big companies or developers. Individual citizens aren't considered as a resident or customer. Even to ask them a question is with fear. I don't what to do...

The people working here are pleasant but it takes forever to get a permit approved! In every other county, I can get a pool permit approved within a day or two. With Montgomery County it has taken over three weeks! When you call the permit technicians, no one answers the phones and no one calls you back. I am now back at the permitting office waisting half of my day just to see what exactly the hold up is with my permit. Too bad it’s the government and you can’t take your business elsewhere.

I expected a horrible experience, but luckily the information person, and Laura at fast tracking were very polite and efficient. Let's see how the rest turns out... It turned out just fine. They told me when I arrived it would be a couple of hours and that is exactly how long it took. I did witness two cases of people arguing with the staff, but in one case the couple did not have all the requirements, and in the other, what the lady wanted to do was not possible (the staff person even turned around the computer to show the customers what the actual county law stated). I am usually NOT a fan of government agencies, but in this case the experience exceeded my expectations.

Went in at 3pm. Was told the department I needed closes at 2:30pm, despite all posted hours indicating they are open until 4pm. So I left the garage within 5 minutes of arriving and was told they still had to charge me $4. That pretty well sums up what we’re dealing with here.
