We had been taking our golden retriever to Alden Small Animal Hospital since he was born in 2008. We had to put him to sleep three months ago. We have always been happy with the vets and the technicians. Dr. Wilson did a great job with his ACL surgeries.nnWe noticed a definite difference about a year or two ago when a new vet joined the practice and began seeing our dog. He does not come across as genuine. It’s like he is putting on a show when he talks to you. He told us numerous times that his father was a vet there. I don’t what difference that makes? It seemed liked he tried to sell us more than was necessary. On the last day of our dog’s life, he did not seem to convey the full gravity of our dog’s condition. We received conflicting information from a second vet at Alden Small Animal Hospital later in the day. We were confused and felt like the first vet gave us false hope about the situation.nWe were so confused about what to do when we picked our dog. We ended up taking our dog immediately to an emergency vet to get another opinion on what was wrong with him. We ended up putting him down there.nWe are getting another puppy next month and unfortunately will not be going to Alden Small Animal Hospital because of this vet. I will tell others not to go there as well.
They are a wonderful practice! They don't try to exploit you for every dime that they can get (as proven when they discovered that I was overcharged on their own system and voluntarily placed a credit on my account) they are also available for questions and advice by phone for our new puppy and they actually care about our fur children!
We miss our Dr. Wilson and Noelle and weren't sure what to expect at first, but now know Dr. Rice is a great vet and he too has the best interest of our pets at heart. Welcome Dr. Rice!!
Sometimes a bit busy you might need to wait on hold. They were respectful and caring when arranging putting my dog to rest. Dr Rice very caring.
Over the last 3 months of my senior dog’s life, she was in for blood work/exam and at least 2 phones calls were placed to the office and spoke directly with Dr. to discuss my dog’s decline. On Saturday 1/23/21, I called the office as my dog was in distress and and I think it was time for her to be euthanized. After being put on brief hold I was told the office was closing shortly and I could make an appointment for MONDAY!? I have been a client with the office for 11 years with this dog and prior to that with another pet! I was absolutely DISGUSTED with the lack of empathy, professionalism and overall treatment on that difficult day! I was left to make arrangements with an emergency vet to euthanize my dog all while she continued to be uncomfortable. I WILL NEVER BRING ANOTHER ANIMAL HERE FOR CARE!
