We tried calling them numerous times during the week to schedule a visit never spoke to a person and left a message with our number for it to be ignored 2 times via voicemail and 2 emails as well. Might I add that this was all despite a friend told us that Ridgefield equine can’t be trusted. This treatment at an attempt to become a customer seems about par for that course.nnThen today our gelding had a swollen sheath (he’s lazy and weird and doesn’t let his hang down out to pee) We called this joke of a veterinarian who told us they don’t do emergency visits unless you’re a current customer. We explained we have tried to become a customer of theirs and with quite the snotty tone the lady said “ scoffed WE DON’T DO THAT UNLESS YOU’RE A CURRENT CUSTOMER”nnObviously these people aren’t in the business because they love animals and it’s abundantly obvious that your animals welfare is not their primary concern.

I have had communication problems with REC and Dr. Alice. She made an appointment with me to meet her at 9:30 am at my horse's boarding barn for a breeding exam of my mare. She was already scheduled to be there to care for six horses belonging to another boarder. I arrived at the barn at 9:20 am (10 minutes early) just in time to see Dr. Lombard exiting the property in her SUV. As I had taken off work for 2 hours to meet Dr. Alice, I lost almost $100 in wages and gas to get to an appointment with her that she no showed for. I never got a phone call from her or the REC office about her not going to be there for our appointment nor have I ever received an apology from her or REC for wasting my time and money.nnDr. Meg did call me and asked me to return her call so she could tell me what kind of day Dr. Alice had. That is not an apology, it is an excuse. My time is just as important and valuable as any other professionals. I was working a very high stress job at the time for a boss who didn't like staff to take time off for any reason (he also is not an animal person and considers horses to be the same as abusive boyfriends - obviously no understanding there of why I had to take time off from work). So, Dr. Alice no showing for our appointment only added to my already high stress level. I could have told her what kind of day I had that day with a workload that I was expected to put in 60 hours per week to keep on top of.nnI really like Dr. Anne at REC and plan to use her in the future. She has always been caring towards my mare and kind to her human clients. She has also responded to questions I've asked her via email in a timely manner. I appreciate her professionalism and professional level of communication.

The vets at Ridgefield Equine always take excellent care of my horses, are efficient with treatment, explain what they’re doing as they do it, and tell me exactly what needs to be done for follow up care. They’re always willing to answer any questions I have, and are only a phone call away! The receptionists are also amazingly helpful and efficient. My horses love them and so do I!
