After recently experiencing my first time ever dealing with a health issue for my Red Tail Boa's 20 year life span, I was very worried. Not only because I was unsure of exactly what was wrong, but also because I was unsure of where I could take her to get good treatment for exotic reptiles, being that I am not familiar with the area, having recently moved from New Orleans to Lafayette.nnWell... I cannot stress enough how lucky I was to find Vet Associates of Acadiana. From the moment I got there, I knew this was the right call. The staff were great, and upon meeting Dr. Greg Schmidt, and finding out his background, knowledge and love of snakes and reptiles, I felt a great relief knowing that she was getting the best care possible. He and his staff did an impressively thorough exam, and identified clear signs of her respiratory infection right away. Greg was very helpful in demonstrating how to properly medicate her myself at home, and made me feel confident to treat her successfully.nnI can't recommend this place enough, especially if you have an exotic species and are unsure of where to take them. They truly care beyond expectation about your pet's health, and providing excellent service. The best experience I've ever had at any vet office by far.
I really liked visiting the veterinary associates of Acadiana. Everyone was so friendly and the building was clean and beautiful. The price point was great and my puppy came out happy and healthy!

Everyone from reception to the technicians to the veterinarians are so caring and knowledgeable. They take a whole picture approach when treating our pets. They take into account our pets' needs, their personalities and budget. I highly recommend their services.
This is the friendliest vet clinic I’ve ever experienced.nI’m new to the area. I took my puppy for shots and a check up. They didn’t rush through the exam. The Dr. educated me on conditions that are specific to Louisiana. He and his assistant even suggested fun things to do around LaFayette!
I took my dog to this clinic for the first time after she came down with a cough. I was very impressed with the level of care that we were provided. They were very kind/friendly with my dog. Dr. Schmidt was very honest and personable. He gave thorough medical explanations related to my dog that were both detailed and easy to understand. He laid out options that were available to me as well as his recommended plan of action. Dr. Schmidt created a comfortable atmosphere that made me feel that I could ask questions and trust him; this in combination with his apparent knowledge in veterinary care makes me feel that my dog's well-being is in good hands.
