Bates Animal Hospital: Hunter Bates, DVM

Wow!! I truly did not realize what I had until I was gone.nnI adopted my dog about 2 years ago and tried another vet before Bates that I didn't love, so I got a ton of recommendations to switch and they were definitely right. I absolutely loved Dr. Bates and his staff from the first time I met them. The staff are very responsive and helpful and Dr. Bates is kind and attentive. My dog can be a little rude when she's nervous and uncomfortable, and Dr. Bates was also very gently and easy with her doing everything he could to make her comfortable and calm her down. Dr. Bates is a vet that I would 100% trust with my dog any day. He also NEVER overcharges or frivolously tacks on extra fees. His prices are extremely reasonable. I have now moved 2 hours a way and tried to find a new vet where I am located, and none of them even compare remotely to how great Dr. Bates and his staff is. If you live in the Athens area I truly could not recommend him enough, y'all are truly lucky to have such a selfless, honest, and caring vet near you.

Dr. Bates is my go-to vet and is so trustworthy, honest, and reliable that I try to keep him as my vet even when I'm living out of state. His staff is also great. I make sure to set up appointments for when I'm in town/plan around them, and they're always able to get my dog in. :)

Extremely pleasant staff. We were not able to go inside during this period. Our dog was taken inside for treatment, but all business, including consultation, was conducted in the parking lot. It was a pleasure to work with everyone there.

Dr. Bates is always attentive and kind. He offers different treatments that are effective, not costly, and best for the animals. He calls back after hours if need be on his own time to problem solve any animal issues that are active. I love the helpful staff, and my animals like him regardless of the shots they have to get ud83dude03
