Small Animal Emergency Clinic

I have been to this clinic several times. This evening, I had to take my sweet girl Stella to the Emergency Vet due to a fight she had with another dog. The team was professional, courteous, and empathetic. Dr. Chase offered complete transparency and honesty before we made a decision to have surgery. Unfortunately, the injuries were too severe to repair and we had to put our sweet girl down. Dr. Chase called me with the news and her findings. Dr. Chase and her staff offered love, kindness, and empathy for our loss. Dr. Chase and her team went above and beyond for us today and we are grateful to have such wonderful customer service during our visit during the hardest of times.

We were travelling from Houston with our dogs on a camping trip. We had passed through Amarillo about thirty minutes before, when we pulled over in a spot we knew where we could let the dogs out for a potty break and some water. Roxy, our 13 year old golden retriever mix, was not sitting up. She was breathing hard and just lying there. We returned to Amarillo and looked on our phone for an emergency animal hospital. We called to make sure they were open. They met us at the door, taking our baby from my husband's arms. They carried her into the back for the doctor to examine. The vet tech who'd taken her came back to us and asked about using CPR or and DNR; he commented kindly that she was not doing well and they wanted to know what we wanted. The pricing was clearly on the form they handed us. We were placed in a waiting room and the vet came in to talk with us. She was an experienced veterinarian, for which I was grateful. She told us that Roxy's heart was not working well, that she was low on oxygen, and that there was nothing medical that could be done. She gave us clear guidance that the compassionate thing for Roxy would be to put her to sleep. This was not a hard decision, though it was a painful one, largely because of the straightforward yet tender guidance Dr. Chase gave us. They put an IV in Roxy and brought her to our room on a gurney. We stroked her as Dr. Chase gave her the medicine. Dr. Chase let us know when she was gone. They gave us time to say goodbye to her. Our ordeal was made more bearable because of the compassionate and professional care that we received.

Just took my Yorkie in after having seizures at home for the first time. This place is a joke. Wanted almost $1000.00 to do blood work, assess her and keep her to see if she will have another one!!! Gave me a price even before they diagnosed her.. Just shows you it’s all about the MONEY!!! Has nothing to do with the love of animals and servicing people ans their fur babies.

My baby pup was extremely sick when we took her in to the small animal ER clinic and they took excellent care of her. They cave her much needed medications and we followed up with her vet the next day. She was well taken care of and bouncing back now.
