I found myself needing to move my father's grave from Lincoln to a small rural town. Doing all of this from California seemed impossible. John Love and his staff made it all very easy. The small town cemetery is operated by a volunteer which was a little tricky to maneuver, but they got it done. My father is now resting close to his parents and childhood friends.

We have worked with Butherus, Maser and Love for years. The staff are attentive, knowledgeable and go to great degrees to see that their clients' needs are met.

Butherus-Maser & Love Funeral Home were wonderful in helping me handle the final arrangements for my Father. In a difficult time which I have never had to handle final wishes before, the director Todd went above and beyond to work with me to make sure everything was taken care of. Everything I asked was executed in a very timely and professional manner and the communication was excellent in knowing the status of the arrangements I decided on. With my Dad being a veteran, they made sure to handle everything in line with the VA's benefits and streamlined everything for me so I had no worries. If you are handling a loved one's final wishes whether it be a burial, funeral, or cremation I would HIGHLY recommend using their services and you will not be disappointed. Some other reviews read on here seem unfortunate but in no way should reflect the reputation of this friendly, compassionate, and professional business who deals with people in their most difficult of times. It's no surprise why this establishment has been in business for so long and will continue to serve this community at a top notch level. I would give 10 stars if I could!!

My mom recently passed away , she had over several years time paid for her own funeral from her social security, she died in September 2020 just I guess 3 weeks ago , she would have been 93 in October,, she had bought a casket just identical to my dads , it started going bad when I viewed her in the funeral home in Lincoln, mom looked good in appearance, but there was a scratch in the finish on the feet end of her casket, it was metal with a sprayed on finish also the lining in the top front of her casket was separated showing nails / staples , I took the owner of the mortuary back and pointed out these things , I was under the impression this would be fixed , no such luck , I had her transferred to Hickman where public visitation would take place , meanwhile the next day while on my way to Hickman I stopped by the cemetery to inspect the grave site ,, in previous years I had been a cat operator and ran heavy equipment, dirt work is somthing I understand,, when I inspected the freshly dug grave I was furious, the job had Ben contracted to G&G backhoe, and they did a terrible job , the vault man who I have no quarrel with would like the center from head to foot have a little hump so the cables would come out easy,,, not the mess I seen,, the ground was uneven and high on one corner , the vault would have set in the bottom in a yaw position, NOT WHAT MY MOTHER PAID FOR!!! I called Patrick the owner of the funeral home and told him I wanted the grave to be flattened and I ment tomorrow , I said don’t you inspect the graves when they are dug and you would never know because they have the grave covered at the grave side service ,,, he said no! ,,,,What kind of a outfit is this!!! I went to the funeral home where mom was for visitation, this is where I met Steve, I told Steve I wanted that grave flattened in the bottom, he him hawed around and said somthing about Saturday,,, the day of the funeral ,, this is where my dark side came in , on top of dealing with the grief of losing my mother I had to almost come to blows with these people,, I told him I wanted that grave fixed the next morning, it was done,,, if they had t done it I was going to get down in that grave and flatten it myself but I was going to live broadcast online,, when I viewed my mother in her casket I seen the scratch was still there , the lining with the staples / nails , still showing , I went and got the guy Steve ,, whom I had told about it also , by this time I was furious again , I got him right up in front of everybody there and made him fix the liner so the nails were at least not showing ,,,, my mother was a wonderful mom she was the kind of mom who taught me my A,B,C ‘s long before I ever started kindergarten, I could count up into the hundreds, was a inspiration to me all my life , didn’t want to be a financial burden when her time came , they had her money and all they cared about was burying another body not doing anymore than they had to ,, if this had been your mother your father , your child ,,, how would you feel , how about G&G backhoe out of Weston nebr , If they had any decency they would be ashamed!
