My dog was hit by a car and our vet doesn't have its own emergency clinic. The people here are amazing! Very kind and sympathetic and very professional as well. From the tech to the receptionist they were all fantastic. While I hope to not need them again under these circumstances, I know where to go for emergency pet care.

My 12 yr old large dog was diagnosed with bone cancer last August from Dr Parsons. His life expectancy was 2-4 months based on history. Since my pup was 12, and doing some research on treatments, I decided that amputation was not in the equation. I shared my thoughts and was explicit in my wishes to give him best quality of life. Instead I chose to do an all natural raw food diet with organic food and supplements. Unfortunately, the wishes of this hospital was to give my dog 5 painkillers per day and push amputation. Last time we went for treatment with bone IV therapy, they told me he was in a lot of pain and was in final stages. Let me be clear, my dog has a great appetite, didn’t limp at all, great energy, and very alert. I was in disbelief. But this is what I was told for 3 months ever since I came to this clinic. So I decided to make a move to Gulf Coast Vet Specialist. Now, I am pleased with the treatment plan for quality of life for a 12 yr old large canine. I was unable to get that point across at this clinic. Every month, I was told something negative and I had enough.nnThe 3 stars is for the supporting staff. They were very nice and I was appreciative of their personal care for my dog. But the overall business practices of the doctors themselves are not something I liked. And that’s why I left. It seemed it was about how much could they charge me rather than what was best for my dog. I did the research and amputation does NOT go well for a 12 year old dog. Plus, there’s an 80% chance the cancer has already spread. So after amputation and chemo, there’s a good chance they will have it show up again. Why do that to a large senior dog? My personal opinion, it’s about money. And I didn’t appreciate they tried to do what they did.nnWe love our animals like our kids. I would spend all the money in the world if I knew it would prolong his life significantly. But I’m also realistic to know is that what is best for me, or what’s best for my dog. And this hospital has not been able to differentiate that to clients like me.

After bouncing around between vets trying to get a diagnosis for my 6 year old Rhodesian Ridgeback, I came across Pearland Animal Cancer and Referral center. I've NEVER seen more attentive staff, who clearly love animals. It was obvious that taking care of animals was their passion, and not just a secular business. Every step of the way through the diagnosis on my dog, through the treatment, they've been exceptional. I can't recommend this place enough. It was an hour drive for me, but well worth it. Honest, caring, compassionate, knowledgeable - I couldn't ask for more. They are different from the other vets I'd taken her to. A+ Thank you

They answered quickly and compassionate when our Yorkie passed. Someone was outside to answer questions. Arrangements were done efficiently.
