Whatley- Kinney Veterinary Clinic

We took our dog Jasmine to them earlier this week because she seemed sick when my wife took her there after I had given them symptoms all they did was one x-ray and told my wife that our dog had cancer they did not do any blood test to verify the prognosis the doctor instantly try to pawn her off to a specialist in Atlanta or in Chattanooga stating that she couldn’t do the surgery the cancer was Operable but the life expectancy would be about six weeks. This to me sent unprofessional for a doctor of animal medicine to give a prognosis based solely off of a single x-ray ,no bloodwork, no stool sample and no urine sample. Also the doctor stated that the cancerous tumor was very large and they would have to take her entire spleen part of her stomach, But they still tried to tell us that we had to go to a specialist to get it verified. I called my normal that the same day as we had already had an appointment set up for the next day with them I asked them to run some blood tests ,a stool and urine samples for analysis. All the other tests that my own vet did show a prognosis that was much different than the prognosis they gave. For a doctor even one of animal medicine to give a prognosis based solely off of one single x-ray and try to pawn off any type of patient is in my opinion unprofessional and not courteous considering that the bedside manner was not very explanatory or consoling any way shape or form. For this reason I will not be taking Any of my pets back to them even if it’s an emergency situation at like it was with her as my vet did not have an appointment the day I took her there.

Rude staff. My dog is in need of medical care fast. I called to see if they had an appointment and the woman said no that I would have to call around. I said I have been and she got very rude with me.

Overall one of those vets that you can really depend on. They provided care even through the pandemic. I’m really impressed with their precautions with covid. Not being able to go in with your pet is really difficult, but they’re doing their part in keeping others safe and I really respect that. Affordable, reliable, it’s refreshing to have a vet that seems to care.

My cat is doing great and the people were really nice.
