Really upset with my experience here and I wish the 5 star reviews didn't get me to choose this vet.nnBrought in my older dog because of limping and stiffness in the joints. The vet himself is very lovely and polite face to face. We vocally agreed it could just be arthritis causing the issues and he quickly gave me samples of Rimidyl. The does he recommended didn't seem to be effective so I called and he said we should up the dose to a pretty high 4 tabs of 100mg a day. I did start to see a bit of difference so we decided to keep it up.nnI purchased a two month supply directly from him and it was $$$ not cheap. The dog seems to be improved, but still not back to her usual self. I chalked this up to age because the vet didn't think it could be anything else. I attempted to get the prescription sent to a company so I could get the generic at a reasonable price *this is where things go wrong* the person who I spoke with (Joe) told me they would not release the prescription because the vet would not make any money on it... I started to think back to the appointment where he's giving out sample for thing right and left and asking if my dog not present needed anything prescribed.nnUpset that they wanted me to pay for this out of pocket I took to a local lost and found pet Facebook group in the area for advice. This vet is apparently known for over prescribing medicine directly from him!!nnI took my dog elsewhere and she has Lyme's disease!!!! This all could have been avoided with a simple blood test that should have been done to check for Lyme and kidney function before prescribing such a heavy dose of anti inflammation medication.nnI was happy to do non invasive treatment on a dog, but this could have be easily avoided. Honestly, take your dog elsewhere if you need a proper diagnosis. I feel like I was deceived by how nice he is and in the end my dog is suffering and over prescribed meds that could hurt her in the long run.
