I adopted a pet that used to go to this vet so I decided to finish out their shots before transferring over to Simsbury where I normally take my pets. For the same exact shot & appointment, I paid $60 in Simsbury—TOTAL. Here, at VCA, I got a bill for $195. They charged for a check-up (when it was just a shot) and after ASKING for a fecal sample, they charged $50 more—which I could have opted out of yet they never mentioned that. When I complained, the woman said “well, I already ran the bill...so...” and charged me. NEVER come here if you want to save ⅔ of your overall bill. I like a trustworthy, honest vet. Not a scamming one who tries to get you to spend as much as they can. ***I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Peter Korton at Simsbury Veterinary Hospital. Very friendly, inexpensive, and prefers your pet’s health & financial stability over making an extra buck.
Even prior to the pandemic it was very hard to get my dog an appointment here, even when it was an emergency. They were also very expensive. The bill always seemed to add up as my visit went on. My vet prior to them retired and I literally cried after my first appointment there because of how expensive it was. I had never paid that much money for a wellness checkup with my old vet. I called one time because my dog had an ear infection and they couldn’t see her for weeks.nnRecently, I received a card in the mail to book her annual check up and they are so backed up her shots were going to lapse (needs shots in beginning of October). The only advice they had for me was to take her to a vaccination clinic as they couldn’t see her until November. I feel like they have too many patients and that my dog was just a number to them.

Too many hidden fees. You better watch your bill or it will go up without your consent.
