Second Chance Community Veterinary Hospital

This is probably gonna be a lengthy one, but bare with me. Back in July I called to put an appointment for my dog’s vaccines. A few weeks later got a phone call and somebody rescheduled my appointment to today at 9am. That phone call happened like two months ago, so in an effort to not waste my time, yesterday, I called at 4:26p got their voicemail so of course I left one. I identified myself and my dog, said my appointment time and asked for somebody to call me to confirm it. Of course, somebody (who didn’t even identify himself) said: “oh yeah, I got your voicemail. Yeah, we’re on for today” I was like, okay great! I’m almost done and will be there in the next 10-15 minutes. Mind you, the voicemail said my appointment time. So this person could have told me I got it wrong , but of course, he did not. My boyfriend arrives at the place at 9:02a. They told him they will not vaccinate my dog because he was late for over almost 20mins, so they RESCHEDULED AGAIN for 9/26. My boyfriend calls me, tells me what’s going on and I am like no this is not right. I decide to try and speak to somebody. Not expecting anything in return, only somebody who could hear my experience and feedback. A lady, who claimed to be the Assistant Manager saw me outside and came outside of the building. From the look in her eyes, I could tell she was already defensive since she spoke with me over the phone briefly when my boyfriend called me to tell me what was going on. Of course, I identified myself again and told her I wanted someone to hear me out. She basically rolled her eyes and didn’t try to hard to care since none of the things I mentioned appeared to be important to her. I told her I thought there was an opportunity to improve communication and treatment of customers, but of course, she focused on responding, protecting herself, instead of listening. Then defended her point saying she couldn’t rely on the sticky note I have at my desk saying that the appointment was today at 9am. I get it, she doesn’t know me to trust me. But that was not my point. I didn’t even hear an apology for my disappointment or inconvenience, abd not even a thank you for the observation. Of course she said, “we’ll take care of you the next time”, and I was like no girl, I will never come back! Thank you, but no thank you.nnOh, and a big shout out to the other lady right outside the building who seemed to pay close attention to what I said and appeared concerned. As I walked away, she shouted: “hey, try to go to Petco or Dakin down the road!”. I really appreciated that!

I have a sick 4 month old kitten I very recently got from second chance. I tried to contact them to get an appointment for her and didn't even receive a call back. All these pets and no one to see them. How wonderful. Don't put animals up for adoption you can't then see for a vet appointment.

This place is absolutely amazing! They take such good care of all of my animals. They treat them like their own. I couldn't ask for a better vet.

This place has been nothing but amazing to me during the past year. When life got tough with Covid my poor baby sable was diagnosed with cancer and the staff there was incredible to me and were with me every step of the way. They made sure that Sable was as comfortable as possible and that I had all of the support I needed. I really want to give a special THANK YOU to Rebecca, you truly helped me more than you know and I would not have been able to get through without the support and love that was shown to me and Sable.nnI am forever grateful for Second Chance!
