Wendell and I grew up east and west of the Collinsville, Texas town andnschool. We were friends. At about 12 or 13 years of age my family hadnfinished hoeing our row crops ( cotton and corn) and my mother let menwalk 9 miles over to spend the night with Wendell. Neither of us hadntelephones. We lost contact after high school. In the 1990's I locatednWendell in Alba and we visited and reminisced.nWendell's wife, Sharon, is a very wonderful person. She took great carenof Wendell.
