Black River Veterinary Hospital

Our long-time vet (Dr. Michelle Hewitt) moved to Black River Vet. Our experience with her has always been positive. She is a very caring and smart vet who listens to her patients' guardians and recommends balanced solutions to her patients' conditions.nnOur experience with her was enhanced by the professionalism of staff at her new location. Signage outside the new location was clear and let us know what we needed to do in terms of COVID precautions. They even have a no contact payment system! Although Black River is much further from our home than Dr. Hewitt's previous offices, we will be happy to travel to Black River Vet to continue our and our pets' relationship with her.

I have been coming to Black River for years now and after every experience, I always say how great they are. My wife and I have 3 dogs and cat. Black River is great about sending friendly reminders for checkups and shots. Though certainly a very popular and busy business, the staff is always friendly and most importantly, extremely compassionate to you and your pet. They also take time to answer any of your questions. Whenever there’s an emergency, they always seem to find the time to take us in. When the pandemic hit, they quickly adapted their service procedures to ensure social distancing for their safety and yours! They are not the cheapest but prices aren’t outrageous. And I generally believe that you get what you pay for. Bottom line is: Black River is a great vet group that consistently delivers great service with a smile. And I really appreciate everyone that works there!

To the doctor that was on duty when We brought in Peanut after a car ran him over, I would like to thank you for your compassion and kindness. Even though there was nothing you could do to save my sweet Peanut I felt that you cared. I also want to thank you for giving us the paw print it is something that we will treasure forever.

If you’re reading this review and wondering if you should take your pet here for the first time, yes — you’ve found the place and now you can stop frantically looking.nnDr. Tack and Dr. Vex are hands down, the best vets we’ve ever had the pleasure of using. The entire office staff is compassionate, friendly, and kind. I trust them completely with our two dogs (who both have very complicated health issues to boot). I can’t recommend them enough.

2020 was a crazy year, but one good thing out of it was getting my new puppy! As a new dog owner you can imagine I have a thousand questions. Finding Black River Veterinary Hospital has been the second greatest thing. They are always available to answer my questions no matter how big or small. They have been more than great with my puppy. I really recommend this vet. You won’t regret it and your dog baby will love you for it!!
