The doctor and staff were very friendly and accommodating. They were prompt and the cost for an exam, vaccine shot and medication was reasonable and in line with my previous experiences. I will definitely use their services again.

If I could rate Boaz Rogan a negative start I would. He refused to write prescriptions so I could get my dogs medications at a different place for cheaper. He didn't test my dog for heart worm but wanted to put him on heart guard plus and wanted me to buy the medication from this hospital. I came home and ordered it online for cheaper and he wouldn't approve the script. I called back and spoke with another tech and she told me that they can't give the medication until my dog is tested for heart worm first. Why would he try to get me to buy it at the hospital in the first place without testing my dog? The main reason I went in was because I found a tick on my dog. He didn't check my dog's ears or tail for ticks. I came back home and had to remove another one myself. Horrible Vet! I don't trust him or this place. They will overcharge you for all medications and tell you other places don't have them. They will try to sell you medications that your dog doesn't need so they can make a profit. Don't go here!!

I would give the place a 5 for just the techs and reception, but the dr needs a 0. As a new client traveling far (about an hour) to really be accurate, I saw the dr. for nearly 2 minutes before telling me to go home and come back another week after cleaning out the guinea pig eye as if it didn’t take 2 weeks just to get an appointment. I brought in a surrendered guinea pig who someone could no longer care and wanted to get him euthanized. I went to ask for an opinion essentially to see what I can do for him or in fact he would have to get euthanized as I also don’t have the best finances. In all, I got nothing out of my appointment, it wasn’t until the dr. Realized I came from far that he then took me in again and this time I held the guinea pig and a tech cleaned out his eye. (Took about 2-3 minutes) he then came in the room to examine the guinea pig which frustrates because this could have all been done in the beginning of the appt. instead of telling me to go home and come back. The prices are not bad but the professionalism from the dr was by far nowhere near what I would have ever expected from anyone. I work at small animal practices myself and this behavior from a dr. Is something I never seen in my life. No compassion, literally the worst veterinarian I’ve ever met. It is not worth another hour travel. And from other reviews I agree that the receptionists and techs are so sweet and I am so sorry that they have to be the ones to be compassionate and apologetic for the drs behavior. Never again.

I brought my ferret, Missy, here with no idea what was going on with her. She was lethargic and withering away. I came to the Metuchen Vet Hospital not knowing what to expect. When I got there, the staff was immediately welcoming and kind. They were attentive and asked a bunch of questions about her condition. During the exam, I cannot tell you how sweet and gentle they were with her. She got spooked and had an accident and the assistant was so sweet and ran to grab something to clean it and her up. After some poking and prodding, the doctor gave my little one a diagnosis. He had to give her a shot there, and I was sent home with several meds. I came back 2 weeks later and she was a little better. She got another injection and the doctor told me she would get one more and be good with that. So, for another 2 weeks, we continued with the meds. When I tell you, in that second week, that she was almost back to her normal self...I was so relieved! I brought her back today for the final injection and they took me right away and saw the change in her. She got her last injection, and I was given instructions on continued care (as her disease is permanent, but manageable). I almost cried because I was so happy that she was doing better and that the vet (Dr. Boaz) was so spot on with her diagnosis and treatment. His support staff is wonderful too. Always so wonderfully friendly, kind, and accommodating. I can’t recommend them enough. I was so worried and scared for my baby and she did so well with them in the examinations and is doing so much better now. If you have a pet in need of medical attention, do yourself a favor and go to this clinic.
