It's not in the best neighborhood, so I would advise you to keep your eyes up, especially at night. I didn't have any problems when using this stop to visit Austin Town Hall during Open House Chicago, so you should be fine, just know that Austin can be a tad rough. In terms of service, trains run roughly every 6-12 minutes, with trains alternating between Ashland/63rd (Englewood) and Cottage Grove (East 63rd), although both will take you to the Loop (destinations only matter if you're traveling beyond Garfield Boulevard). Other than that, it's just your standard L station.

it cool, yea u gotta watch your back, but when i was last there im a pedestrian and almost got involved in two accidents that happened at that intersection this is a photo of the afternath yhe cars were removed but the car hit almost swiped me if not for divine providence
