Just moved to IL and went to this hospital for the first time yesterday and I have to say I'm impressed! Some good points are: (1) My corgi pup was handled with care (2) the techs were very professional and at the same time personal, and (3) The vet was super informative. He took time to explain everything (and was very patient with me asking a little too many question haha). I've taken my pup to three different hospitals in her life and definitely had the best experience here. 10/10 for sure!!

The praise that Christensen Animal Hospital and Dr. Moll have received in prior reviews are well deserved and consistent with my experience at his practice. After struggling with my prior vet to accurately diagnosis and treat what seemed to be a skin condition on my dog, a friend recommended taking him in to Dr. Moll. We were able to get him in as a drop-off, despite how busy Christensen already was at that point. After a few tests Dr. Moll was able to diagnose my pup’s problem and prescribe a medication which cleared things up relatively quickly. Their rates were consistent with what I’ve experienced elsewhere and although several tests were completed in the end, never felt pressured or that they were being conducted without a good reason.nnThe staff at Christensen were friendly and professional, but seemed to only excel when things were routine. While this may have been a result of the number of times I either called or stopped ‘in’ this past year, there were several instances of poor communication: asking about an appointment only to find it wasn’t made, being offered an estimate which never got sent, being told that I’d receive a call which never came (this happened a few times). My greatest frustration, however, was learning that they were not willing to work with any online pharmacy (e.g. Chewy.com, 1800petmeds.com) directly to fill prescriptions. Although they were willing to provide me with a written prescription, I would have had to mail it in for processing. This wasn’t a realistic option for a medication that needed to be refilled monthly.nnWhat finally turned me off from Christensen and led me to find another practice was what happened after I was finally able to pick up the written prescription. It had already taken a few phone calls to coordinate the effort; the script was written, but took some time for Dr. Moll to finally sign. After finally picking up the script I came to find that it had been written for the brand-name version of the drug and marked “May Not Substitute”, even though I’d previously bought the generic version directly from Christensen. At first I didn’t think much of it…confirmed with two pharmacies that they wouldn’t be able to substitute for the generic version based on how it was written, then reached out to Christensen. I was surprised when they argued that the brand-name and the generic were the same drug, so they should be able to substitute. I agreed with the point, but pointed out that, as written, the script couldn’t be used that way and asked if it could be rewritten with “May Substitute” checked. They reiterated their original point, I asked if I could pick up a revised script the next day, and never heard back. That was the last I heard from their staff. I suspect this was a one-off event, but once was enough for me.

Dr. Moll is a wonderful vet and has taken care of my pets for many years. He has excellent judgment and is very skilled and compassionate. The staff is caring and friendly. I would not go anywhere else.

The doctors and staff really care about what they do and understand that pets are part of the family and treat them accordingly. Love their dedication and commitment.
