Gus Thornhill's Funeral Home

This funeral home has only caused me more grief and are not honest people.. they twice put wrong information on my late husbands death certificate even after I took them copies of my drivers license, birth certificate etc and buried him for free instead of respectfully collecting funds from his life insurance policy never once said sorry for my loss and kept closure from me by keeping me from coming to my husbands funeral.. I have reported all of these things and hopefully nobody else will ever have to have to endure this experience again!!!!

My family has used and relied on Gus Thornhill's Funeral services for over 20 years! My recent experience however, Oct 26th, 2020, My Sister passed and I used Gus Thornhill Funeral Home.nThe rep who serviced me just started filling out an application for death certificates, as if I knew the procedure. His demeanor was so disrespectful to me and my neice! I wondered, if we were White Women, would we have gotten more respect?nThe book to chose flowers from, each page was old torn laminated pages. I advised the rep to replace the sheets as soon as possible to prevent spreading germs!nnThe service lasted all of 10 minutes. Gus Thornhill was late and so was I.nI was zooming the service and heard them quickly do the Lord's prayer and few other words. The Song I had paid for WAS NOT DONE! I ran up just in time to say a few words. Shocked and Unsatisfied, I still signed the papers as Satisfied because I want to believe in Black Businesses and I believe in second chances. TheMThe spelling of my sister's NAME WAS NEVER corrected the AJC obituary as I requested several times.nnIn summation, I was due and received my balance check from them, I needed them to rewrite in my neices name since I'm in Hospice at home. I called, I went by there, I called again and again.nnThey advised that only Michael Thornhill could do that, but he never called earlier! Today, I made my last call to this Business which disrespected this Black Women and her Family!nnYou are not better than us Michael Thornhill! You are surviving, I believe, due to the reputation of your father, may he rest peace! I decided to make a change! Just got a a call, bring the check back, we will do it! Thanks!nBy the way the rep just told me none of this was their fault; No Song, No correction in the AJC was YOUR FAULT! The check rewriting was just a request from an old customer! Thanks!

Had my mother's funeral service done here on 08/04/2020. They did great on my mother's presentation with the dress we wanted for her. And we had her cremated.nnThank you so much Gus Thornhill!

They did an excellent job on my grandma she looked like her old self again and not sickly like she was they did excellent with her hair and makeup she looked so natural like she was just sleep

My experience with the Threshold was they had my niece when we went to view the remain Mr. Thornhill (son) was in the next room they was drinking and cursing laughing out loud thing have change since Mr. Thornhill passed. The son is about the dollar. The new crew he have arrived at the house late and speed to get where they going P. S Shop around
