I am a Pastor in the Indiana area and could not have been more impressed by the facility (which was recently renovated) and more importantly with the way that the staff cared for the family as they said goodbye to their loved one.

The facility has went thru some major improvements inside and out, in the past year. To appreciate the improvements it’s a must stop in and see.

Under new ownership, the funeral home has undergone many renovations which have made the facilities more appealing & comforting...But most importantly, As with all families that have to make final arrangements with their loved ones..we were confused, in shock and disoriented at the sudden passing of our father. Robinson-Lytle-Shoemaker staff from owner (Richard Shoemaker) to every member of the team interacted with our family with professionalism, compassion, kindness and guidance to navigate us thru this difficult time. We can not say enough about Mike Chuhran, their funeral director. From the instant we met Mike, he treated us like family and we felt as if he were a part of ours. From the immediate contact to the funeral home for dads passing, Mike was with us every step. He assisted us with arrangements in a casual manner & let us make decisions without pressure. Mike went above and beyond to assist in every aspect we asked for in planning our father's viewing at the funeral home to his funeral/burial at a local church. If we asked, Mike took care of it..He was accessible to us day and evening during the entire time..Mike has also been wonderful in assisting our mom with requests in dealing with related issues that are needed after the burial. He was/is simply amazing & a true asset to the Shoemaker Funeral Home! This funeral home does not provide a commercialized experience..IT does provide a personalized & sincere approach in the most difficult times our families must experience... Went to a viewing today. Staff was very nice. Facility is in need of a serious update. The rug thru the building is all in need of replacement. Several people tripped on the way in. Was disappointed as this use to be a very well kept funeral home.
