We have been going to this office for over 15 years. Their is no other office that cares for your pet like family. Dr Benson very compassionate, caring . We know she is in good hands at all times. The staff is wonderful. THANK YOU DR BENSON

I recently took in two strays. With strays come a variety of medical issues and a large amount of medical bills getting them caught up. Today I had the most unpleasant experience in my life. I had scheduled an appointment to get my newest stray checked out, she’d been super sick. With COVID going on, everything was over the phone. That’s the only positive to this story. With calling and exchanging contact over the phone, they forgot to put me on hold. The stray I took in today “supposedly” has a very serious issue with her uterus. The only way to fix it is to spay her, which was my plan either way. The price I had to pay for her shots and antibiotics was already very expensive. The cost to spay was extremely high. I asked if there were any chances of confirming supposed issue, but that would’ve ran me another fortune. So I told them that I would call around to other vets to see if I could get the procedure done for any cheaper. They didn’t like this idea. This where they “thought” they put me on hold. A few of the statements the staff and vet made were:n* “I think I’ve convinced her to get the procedure done here”n* “She’s acting like this isn’t as serious as it is, I don’t think she understands”n* “She’s saying she’s going to call around and get different prices, why doesn’t she just do it here”nAnd my all time FAVORITE quote of this whole conversation was:n* “Well you know how they are, they’ll just drop the cat somewhere”nAs you can assume I was completely mind blown. As I left the office I was in tears and shaking, my legs were locked. I called them back to inform them I wanted to cancel the spay of my other cat, and also told them what I had heard. The doctor was very quick to become defensive and ended the conversation EXTREMELY professionally with, “I’m done here, good luck”. No apology, no sympathy, not even an ounce of guilt. So to anyone who lives in the Louisville, Bardstown, Mt. Washington, and ESPECIALLY Taylorsville area please do not take your babies to Salt River Veterinarian Clinic. They are ignorant and believe they can do no wrong.

It's very difficult to judge any place now because of the coved 19 restrictions, however; I did find that everyone was still able to communicate with me regarding my issues with my dog. Communication was done via phone calls and everyone was very pleasant and professional. I wasn't upsold anything like at some vets. Overall very nice. I would definitely recommend Dr Benson for your animals.
