I love Banfield Pet Hospital. The Doctors are amazing. The Techs are fantastic. The staff is friendly and do a good job remembering the pet names and faces.

I have been with banfield for 8years. The staff was great in the beginning while at the pets mart location.nnNow that they have relocated it is impossible to get through to someone I’ve the phone. I have called since 8am with no answer. They’re supposed to be open! This is the second time this has happened.nnWhat happened, what am I paying for and why should I continue to pay for a plan when I am unable to get services when they are needed?

Staff is attentive. Location is pretty good plenty of parking and if you have to wait while your pet is being seen by a vet, there are stores like kmart and 5 below...

I am beyond disappointed with Banfield (Yonkers, NY). Ive been taking my two Maltese dogs to Banfield (Yonkers) since 2008/2009 as they are both part of their wellness plan, and previously I had not experienced any issues. Recently, on 5/23/20, around 7pm, one of my dogs just randomly collapsed on the floor. I immediately picked her up and checked her, and she was then alert and appeared well. I knew this wasn't normal so I called Banfield and left a message explaining what had just transpired, and expressed that I would like to take her in the morning to get checked out. The morning of 5/24/20, around 8am, I start calling Banfield, but no one answers the phone. I continue calling from about 9am-10:30am, but no one answers the phone. I wondered if maybe they were closed, but I decided to take my dog and head to Banfield. I arrived around 11am and they were very open. I checked in at the main desk and explained that Ive been calling and left a message the night before. I explained my concerns for my dog and what happened to her the night before. I was told that I could wait around as a walk-in, since i didn't have an appointment, to see if a space became available. I waited from about 11am-1:30pm and no one even looked at my dog. I was told that all the scheduled appointments were showing up, so it was very unlikely that my dog would be seen, and that the vet was then going on lunch break. I was given an appointment for 5/25/20 at 12pm. I go to my scheduled appointment and explained to the vet what happened to my dog on 5/23/20. The vet “examined” my dog and allegedly ran tests on her and “everything was fine”. I was told that my dog was well and there was “nothing wrong” with her. In my heart, I didn't feel comfortable with this information, as this was not normal for my dog; however the vet said “she was fine”. Around 3am, the morning of 5/26/20 (just a few hours after being at Banfield) my dog died! Around 3am, my dog collapsed again and appeared as if she was gasping for air. At that time, we rushed her to the 24hr Emergency Animal Hospital (E.62 St, Manhattan) where she was pronounced dead. I just don't understand how on 5/25/20 i take my dog to Banfield to get checked up and they run tests and say “shes fine” and then hours later she is dead. Just on 4/11/20 (during COVID) she was at Banfield getting her routine comprehensive exam, which I never miss, and supposedly, she was well and healthy.nnFast forward to early August 2020, my surviving dog gets diarrhea. I try managing it at home but after 2/3 days of consecutive diarrhea, I get concerned and call Banfield to schedule an appointment. However, they dont have appointments until September. Its the 1st week of August and I am reporting that my dog has diarrhea, why do I need to wait until September to bring him in? I was asked to call around other nearby Banfield hospitals to see if they had availability, which I did, but all were booked until September. I dont understand why Banfield doesnt leave room in their daily schedule for unforeseen walk ins or potential medical issues/emergency. If my dog is a patient at your practice and is part of the wellness plan (which i can only use at Banfield), why do I have to resort to going to another vet to get my pet treated? I am just beyond traumatized, disappointed and disgusted with my recent experiences at Banfield. I just dont trust Banfield with care and safety of my pets anymore. Its not clear to me that they have the best interests for pets, especially when pets are sick or are in need of immediate medical attention. In my experience, there is just a lack of empathy and sense of urgency when your pet is in need of speedy medical attention.nRIP to my beloved princess, Chanel. I wish I wouldve taken you somewhere else. Maybe you still would’ve been with us! ud83dude22 ud83cudf08ud83dudc36
