My dog required a minor procedure after hurting herself in the park. I took her to Blue Pearl right away. My dog can get mean when she’s in pain as she has hurt herself before. I asked if I could use one of their muzzles and put it in my dog. They said yes. Within five minutes, they called me back only to say that due to legal reasons only their staff can apply muzzles to animals. I thought that was fine until they told me that their staff, “didn’t feel comfortable” putting a muzzle on my dog. Isn’t that their job? She’s a 60 pound dog. I was very upset as my dog was in a lot of pain and needed to get this procedure done. I will never go here nor will I refer this place to anyone.

One of the worst experiences I have ever had with a vet.nI had to bring my 4 month old puppy here due to an injured paw. Upon arrival and due to social distancing issues I had to stay in truck while they took Nash. The employee that took Nash was friendly and seemed to be empathetic to his situation. After waiting for about 40 minutes, I received a call directly from the vet (Dr Waddle). Her first comments were nothing to do with the care of Nash but how unruly and energetic he was and how difficult it was to examine him. She went on to give her diagnosis of what she thought paw issue was. I then asked her what she thought about his inside toe of his front right paw being swollen. She seemed confused about it and said “oh I didn’t see any swelling anywhere. I’ll have to go look at it again.”n.......do what, you didn’t see it.......She then called me back and said , “ yes it is swollen and seems to be a sprain or strain.” She then went on to tell me to expect his throat to be sore because of him tugging on the leash and that they had him tied up......ummmmm this is a vet right? Isn’t it your job to soothe the animal and make them comfortable???? And he’s a puppy who is injured and in an emergency room vet.nnI DO NOT RECOMMEND anyone taking their pet here for anything. Consider other emergency/specialty vets in the area.

We took my mother's cat who was lethargic, not eating, and was having a hard time breathing.nnThey wanted to do a blood test for $250. At my other vet it is usually $100. Then they tell us that she is anemic, has a heart murmur, and jaundiced. They recommended x-rays, ultrasound, blood transfusion (which alone was $1500) and a 3-5 day stay at the hospital for $6000! We said no and paid $450 for antibiotics, steroids, pain medication, fluids (which I had to request since it was not offered to us), and the blood work.nnToday we took her cat to my vet. He agreed that the cat was jaundiced and anemic. He recommended chest x-rays, ultrasound, IV fluids, and to spend three days at the vet while continuing the antibiotics and steroids. We were quoted $700.nnI understand that emergency services should cost more, but at nearly 10x the cost??? The interactions with the vet were alarming and borderline emotionally manipulative. When we said no and that we wanted a second opinion, he said that the cat would likely die that night. When we asked what we could do to make her comfortable through the night, he was reluctant to talk through options.nnI would only come back to Blue Pearl if my animal was bleeding out outside of my vet's hours. But based on other reviews, your animal might die in the car before you are even seen.

I would like to thank Dr. Cummings in all of his efforts trying to save our sweet Molly. His compassion towards Molly, Cheryl, and myself will never be forgotten. Molly loss her battle to cancer and passed October 26, 2020. God bless you Blue Pearl.

Great staff that accommodated our family in an emergency after regular hours. They treated us and our pet with care and compassion. They were an intelligent staff that explained the process clearly and empathetically. They provided support and follow up to our family. Would recommend this vet!
