I called from out of state at about 12:30 on a Saturday afternoon to order flowers for delivery to a family member’s funeral Monday at 1:00 p.m.nThe person answering my call said, “Is this for Mrs. M______?”n“Yes.”n“Well, we delivered two van loads of flowers for her this morning. It’s too late now.”n“Well, can you deliver them Monday?”n“No, I don’t think we can get them there early enough.”nAccording to Google Maps, it’s an 18 minute drive from the florist to the funeral home.nThis insensitivity and callous disregard for a potential customer in a sensitive time of mourning is inexcusable. Their website offers same day delivery and says “Trust us to help you express your condolences, giving comfort and support”.nnDon’t worry, Margeaux's Florist, I won’t be bothering you by trying to order from you again.

I’ve purchased flowers from Margeaux’s a handful of times. Here are a few quick thoughts:nn1. The staff is not very friendly.n2. They are not interested in helping you find a bouquet that fits your needs.n3. Their inventory is always limited. Even if they were customer centric and wanted to guide you toward the right arrangement, they wouldn’t have what they need to make it. Last time I went in, they only had purple flowers (two types) and some greens to go with them.n4. Their add on items say a lot about their dedication to service. Everything is outdated.nnWhy give them three stars you ask? I’m giving them three stars because their flowers are at least better than what I can get at Food Lion which is the only other flower source in New Kent. Here’s to hoping they reboot this place in the future. With some help and a few business lessons, they could do really well.

I could NEVER understand why Margeaux's florist of New Kent, Va only have three stars but now I do. I ordered and paid for an arrangement on 2/5 to be delivered 2/8. I was told they could deliver the arrangement I selected on that date.. Well I'm thinking the flowers are certainly enroute by 11 am and instead I get a call that they did not have my selection I paid for but would still see that a beautiful arrangement was delivered. I had someone send me a pic and it looked like they went next door to Food Lion and spent $6.99.nWhat did you say???? NO I'LL NEVER CALL THEM AGAIN. I ASKED FOR A CONFIRMATION NUMBER AND THEY SAID THEY DIDN'T USE THEM. I suppose that should've been my first. Clue. Each day I learn.

Ordered some flowers for my wife for Halloween(our anniversary) and was terribly disappointed. The arrangement was supposed to be in the shape of a sugar skull....instead we received an arrangement that looked like a 5 yr old put together. I will never order from this place again or suggest it to anyone.
