Shaw-Davis Funeral Homes

This was the best expierence I have had while planning my father's funeral. Polite, efficient, took care of absolutely EVERYTHING, and was the most affordable place. A 15k funeral for less than 7, yet still better service than the 15k funeral home and the price was as posted online without Mr. Shaw ever trying to push anything else on us (and that was including the pick up, prep, visitation, funeral, police escort, cemetery services, honorarium, casket, vault, flowers, tent, chairs, opening and closing of plot, pamphlets, memorial book, military honors and flag, precession, obituary in paper and online eulogy, death certificates, and I even had the funeral in Delaware City at my place of choice - they set everything up at my location!). I am so very happy with Shaw Davis and recommend this place to EVERYONE needing funeral services. Even during the pick up of my father, the gentlemen requested my permission before taking him. I did not have to do anything but grieve.

The staff has been extremely comforting and understanding each time I've called upon them to care for a relative who passed. I will only deal with them in the future and recommend them always. Thet offer beautiful and tasteful options for every budget and need. Also, they also offer so many creative options one may never have considered, which I truly appreciated. They went above and beyond my ecptexpectations every time.

I came into the office in January 15th and paid for my late Aunts cremation. I was told I was speaking with a funeral director but she turned out to be an apprentice and when I called in last week I was told she was only an employee my aunt wasn't cremated until February 16th I have the coroner's office call me to ask who was picking up the body and when. That was two weeks after I had filled out the release form at Shaw Davis and gave them permission to pick up my aunt. I had to call Shaw Davis back and let them know that the Coroner's office wanted to know why they hadn't picked my aunt up yet. I'm in the grieving process I shouldn't have to be a liaison for any establishment that has already been paid to perform a service. That's literally what they got paid to do. The lack of care and the lack of follow-up when I complained about Miss Liz and her busy schedule to the point where she couldn't even cremate somebody within a month's time. I specifically asked for my aunts clothing and personal belongings back and they were cremated with her instead of my expressed wishes. I'm very disappointed and I would recommend that if you want adequate service for cremation that you go elsewhere because this place is dysfunctional and disorganized.

My father died a year ago. He was in hospice and passed away in our home. The first night meeting them was actually the night he passed. The employees were AMAZING! We had a house FULL of family and they were extremely patient even though it was after midnight. They had nothing but RESPECT and sympathy for us. How they handled my dad and allowed us to walk out to the van with them, made us feel even more comfortable with them. We used Newcomer when my brother had passed years ago and my entire family would use Shaw Davis over ANY OTHER funeral home moving forward. Incredible staff!!!

When our daughter passed away ,we looked for almost a week for a funeral home and were treated very badly by some. We made an appointment with Shaw Davis funeral home and the minute we met with Kip we knew that this was someone who actually cares . They didn't pressure us and was out front with everything involved . They made us feel comfortable and taking in consideration the big difference in price of other funeral homes I did not expect the treatment we received. They were kind ,caring and understanding of everything we were going through . They are very professional and I feel we got more than we payed for. I will definitely use their services again.
