I have been taking my animals to Parkview for a few years and have always felt comfortable with their services and care for my pets. Until now. My cat has been going through liver failure and we knew that he would be passing at some point. Last night when I came home, my poor cat was having difficulty breathing, would not move, and vomit/ stool was in my living room. My husband and I knew that it was time. I called Parkview to bring him in for euthanasia and was told that they were too busy and had no appointments available to put my poor kitty out of pain. Even after letting the receptionist know how he was doing, one of the doctors said to take him to the Emergency vet instead. I'm sorry but where is your compassion and empathy for my sick cat who is in so much pain and dying?! I understand about appointments etc but how can you just let one of your patients suffer like this? He knows your staff and we felt comfortable with you. Anyone who has ever had to go through this knows how heartbreaking and hard this is. The last thing you need is to be told go somewhere else. Just for this, I will NO LONGER take my other pets to you!! You just lost my business and respect.
I have been taking my pets to Parkview for more years than I can count. They have helped our family with emergencies, routine care, grooming and the welcoming of new fur babies to our family. The doctors and techs are knowledgeable and compassionate. I go into every appointment with full trust that we will have all our questions answered and that our pets are truly in the best hands.
Very hard to get an appointment even if we have only been coming here for years
They provide good care if you can get an appointment. Twice I had cats who were established clients that were needed to be seen that day, one for reactions due to the vaccinations they gave him. Both time they said they couldn't see them. They should have room for clients who need appointments right away. They also err on the side of charging you for more than seems necessary. I've moved to another vet who both times was able to help us even though my pets were not even clients.
I've been bringing our pups here for a few years. We tried another option last year, quickly went back to Parkview! Staff is always friendly, understanding, and compassionate. When we had to put our pup down a few years ago, they were so kind and gentle through a very emotional process. Now they see our overly excitable Husky and our goofy lovable Pitty, couldn't ask for a better vet staff!
