Animal Emergency Clinic of Mid-Maine

The team at the Emergency Clinic took great care of my dog and quickly removed the porcupine quills from her leg. They carefully explained the procedure first (sedation, removal of quills) and gave information about follow-up care. I've been to this clinic two other times and have had great service each time!

Thank God for the Emergency Clinic! They helped my Lab, Ollie, with an issue that caused three previous visits with my usual veterinarian. He was not improving, and had a recurrence of a troublesome symptom. It happened on the weekend so my regular vet was not open. I am glad it happened this way because the Emergency Clinic was able to treat and fix what was wrong. The staff was very helpful, and prepared me for what to expect upon arrival at the Clinic due to Covid restrictions. I did not have to wait long once I got there before a technician contacted me to collect the information they needed about Ollie's condition to give to the veterinarian who was on duty. I explained my concerns and indicated I wanted Ollie to have an x-ray. In no time the technician came out to get Ollie for treatment. The vet came out shortly after that to discuss what might be found once x-rays were done. I knew within a half hour what was wrong with my dog, and the vet thoroughly explained everything to me. Ollie had to have an operation due to an obstruction in his intestine. He would have to spend the night, so I left for home, feeling bad for my boy. The vet called me a few hours later to let me know the surgery went well and Ollie was doing fine. He encouraged me to check on Ollie later that evening, and the next morning, and if I had any concerns to call - he would be happy to be of help. Thankfully, I was able to bring my boy home the next day. The vet also said if any complications should arise to bring him back, he would be taken care of. The staff at the clinic are remarkable in my book - very caring, compassionate people. I was impressed with the veterinarian - he did everything possible to try and help me feel at ease and to know my dog was in good hands. I was a little concerned about what the incision would like like, but it was very clean and well sutured. This indicated to me that the vet really cares about what he does. I cannot thank him enough for taking such good care of Ollie. If your pet should ever need care, I highly recommend the Animal Emergency Clinic of Mid-Maine!

Experienced surgical vet on site got our lab into surgery within 20 minutes of being seen. Receptionist was pleasant and professional. Wonderful facility serving a real need.

Unfortunately, we've needed to bring our dog Luna to the emergency clinic a few times. Each time, she was well cared for and we were well informed. The clinic has done a good job adjusting their protocols through the pandemic (outside check-ins etc). I appreciate having this local service and all the good work these dedicated professionals provide to keep our pets healthy.

We have used the Emergency Clinic a number of times. The most important time was when our 8 y/o Chesapeake Bay Retriever had to have emergency surgery for a blocked intestine. They saved his life! We've always found them easy to work with at times of great stress.
