I will NEVER, EVER darken their doorstep again. I had one dog who had had problems for about a year & never given a diagnosis. He died.... Then they gave me a diagnosis? Should have learned then. Bring my other baby in & I told them she's clearly having problems breathing. okay bring her back tomorrow and leave her for the day and we'll watch her and take her blood pressure. So I picked her up at 5:00, paid $100, told they can find nothing wrong with her, she can still hardly breathe, I take her home and immediately knew there was a BIG problem. Ray Charles could have seen there was a problem! So I took her to the emergency vet in Aurora by 8:00 that night and by 1:00 a.m. we had to put her down. I'm not saying it was prairie view's fault that she died, perhaps it was going to happen anyway, but the Aurora vet certainly had some ideas and then it just got too bad so there was no choice. I could have kept her at home with me all day and hugged her and loved her, but no she had to sit there at prairie view by herself all day alone. I went there for several years and truly believe they're only there for the money. Do what you will this is just my experience.
Fast, clean, and knowledgeable. I brought my dog here with an ear infection and they were ready to bring her in as soon as I parked. The assistant met me in the parking lot and brought my dog in (due to Covid). The vet called within 5 minutes to ask some questions. Then within another 10 minutes he called back with good advice and two recommendations for treatment. The vet was immediately transparent about the cost of options, made me feel comfortable that he wanted the best care for both my dog and my wallet.
Always a pleasant experience. Very neat and clean and doggie treats in the waiting room to keep you know who occupied during our short wait.
Six years ago I gave this place a 5 star review. After repeated problems and neglect resulting in the death of my pet, you now get a single star. I would give zero stars, but it's not an option.
The doctors and staff at Prairie View are knowledgeable, caring and friendly. I do cat rescue, and wouldn't go anywhere else. They have saved more cats and kittens than I can count, and are always ready to help in every way they can. I would highly recommend them, for surgeries and routine health care.
