Absolutely HORRIBLE!!! I have never had to deal with a loss where I am involved to this extent. From the very start they have been extremely uncoordinated. Dad wanted a direct cremation with no services provided. I wouldn’t think it would be hard to have staff that know the right information to tell you the process. The young director there had zero information for when I called about the status of my father or perform something as simple as sending us the paperwork to fill out. Called back the next day and after they finally found dads “folder” I asked if he had been cremated yet and the answer I got was no (little did I know because of my inexperience with this is that the paperwork work portion has to be done first of which had not been returned from the crematory yet). Turns out I missed a call from the owner and now when I call back I get someone other than him and he is not available. Now is when I find that the paperwork has to be returned and that he has not been cremated. Needless to say I set up dad with a different funeral home that is professional. When I did finally get to talk to the owner he explained to me that there was going to be a charge of $400.00 and I quote directly from him “Refrigeration” charges as well. How do you tell a grieving family that. You could have just said the total of what we would owe. I tried very professionally to explain the issues I had with owner of which from the “Refrigeration” quote above you can guess at how professional and caring the rest of the conversation went. I am highly disappointed in what has transpired during this extremely difficult time. I absolutely hope that this review deters people from choosing this place. People should not be treated like this.

My niece Brenda White Cates was sent to Griffin Roughton funeral home and all I can say is if you are not wealthy Do not take your loved one here, my niece’s family was treated not only completely without respect but were met with disdain and indifference to their pain and grief. They would not even put the tent at the cemetery by the graveside but so far away many of the elderly people couldn’t walk there. They would not allow a procession to the cemetery and as a result some didn’t make it there because they got lost. If you want your loved one to have a lovely service do not use Griffin Roughton!

Extremely professional and very nice employees. Beautiful chapel for services. I highly recommend them for future use.

This is our first time here and our last. We were deeply disappointed in this establishmentnThe staff was not any where near welcomingnit seemed as an inconvenience to them, when we was asked what we wanted in my dad’s obituary they wrote it down but was not put in his obituary no one contacted us or emailed us to proof read anything before it was printed My dad was A Vietnam War Vet no where was this recognized or nor was his profession as a welder was mentioned in his obituary as told to them to be in his obituary. He was cremated when no one called us to let us knw he was ready to be picked up if we hadn’t called we wouldn’t hve known when we did go to get him he was sitting on the front desk out in the open very unprofessionalnOur family Does not recommend this place at all in your time of grief... if I was able to choose I’d give them 0 stars no respect for the deceased

Our family has used them many times for deaths in our family. Staff is very helpful and compassionate. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a professional staff to help with anything in your time of grief.
