Lake Shore Funeral Home & Crematory

We have used Lake Shore Funeral Home numerous times for our family. All the staff is compassionate and caring. We know that we can trust them to take care of our family like their own. My Dad just recently passed away and they did his cremation. We chose not to have a service at this time due to Covid but they still made it available for our family to view him before the cremation. They have a great opportunity if you choose to send your loved one off into the cremation vault. I was reluctant at first as I didn't really know how I would feel about having that experience. I decided that I wanted to do it and I was glad that I did as it was the last thing that I could do for my Dad. They are a wonderful family servicing families....

Don't get Bill. If you get anyone else you should be okay. This is the third.. third funeral I had to go through. My 16 year old brother, shortly after my father and then my now my mother. The last two times no issue. Paid upfront, they kept in touch, they let us know how it was going, walked us through it. My mom and it wasn't the same. I made the appointment. Sat with Bill went through our needs and requests. There was paperwork we needed signed, but he said he would email it. Paid in full and left him our information to get that signed. He told us to call the hospital and tell them they would be coming. Did that then, no contact. Had to call and ask for the stuff that needed to be signed. We completed it but heard nothing. No idea, if the paperwork was correct or that anything was needed or even if my mom's body was even picked up. I am good with texts, email, or leaving a message. But nothing.. I just needed to know a simple status. You hear nothing that makes you scared, makes you think that something is missing. Maybe waiting on me? Had to get owner to tell me what was going on and when things had changed. Finally went to pickup her remains. Bill comes out with urn. The last request was unfulfilled, four bags to be put in the urn to be held for each of us.. each living child would take her and make our peace. We couldn't have a service due to the pandemic and the urn would hold her until it was safe. I was told just use the urn to scatter the ashes. I wanted out.. i just wanted out. He then realized the mistake he made because he didn't fulfill the explicitly request and placed her in urn and two boxes. This is this done and I am done with this place. It seems others have the same problem with Bill, so use someone else.

The Lake shore team were so caring and understanding of our situation. My dad died right as covid was closing things down so a already stressful situation was made worse. I called and spoke to Brent, told him my dads wishes, and that was basically it. Brent and his team really stepped up in all possible ways, they did exactly what I had asked with caring and compassion. Brent understands family dynamics can be challenging In these situations, however he handled our situation with grace and compassion while remaining professional and caring. I am grateful for Brent and the Lake Shore family for helping us through a awful time.

Brent, Carri, and team were wonderful in our time of need. They were able to find creative ways to deliver an excellent visitation and funeral while still abiding by social distancing rules and limitations. My family and I would 100% recommend Lake Shore Funeral Home to any family seeking to honor lost loved ones.

As an oldest daughter of my dad that passed away 03/22/2020 - James Wayne Baker I was in charge of making the creamation arrangements as my 2 younger siblings ask me to -Brent you sure fooled me and I thought that your Lakeshore Funeral Home you and you wife own - would and did know The State of Texas Laws- as a Medical Power of Attorney Ends and Ceases the moment a Texas Citizen passes away & dies - and as my dads next blood of kin as he was divorced your unkind. Treatment of my dads Creamation & Arrrangrments and memory of how you Treated as such will forever leave a memory that I surely will not recommend nor will I understand Brent - why when I called your Funeral home & made arrangements for mine & my 2 sisters Dad to be Creamated you took all information you asked for from me - and you told me that everything including our dads body to be taken care of- then when I called you back later n the week to see if our dads ashes were ready to be picked up & you told me that I his Oldest blood daughter 1st next of kin could not pick the ashes up you told me that you talked to my younger sister Penny Baker Colvin & she informed you that a Robert Barron was the only person to release our dads ashes to- because she informed me that she didn't know if I could come to Waco and get them-our dad was not even friends with this person-& u also told me that you didn't want to get in the middle of a family squabble I asked you what you were referring to & you said Penny had called you & that you could no longer talk to me & give me information concerning our dad ---she was & is not executor of his estate nor is our sister Kellie Baker Monroe nor am I as of the present Kellie has filled out all paperwork needed to nominate - How come you won't let me reply to your Comment you left me ? Perhaps because you Contradicted yourself and lied also in your reply back to my review I gave your Funeral Home- you state you Gave my sister Penny Baker Colvin our dads death CERTIFICATE- and ashes how can that be Brent-when I have them Myself- I had to call Hill County Sheriff in Hillsboro Texas to contact Robert Barron whom would not give me our dads ashes- the Hillcounty Sheriff Officer called him and met with Robert here in Whitney Texas and made him give our dads ashes-I have them not Penny as you stated in your Reply to my review--I have the Hill County report of day & date they retrieved the ashes for me they made Robert give them to me -Penny was not trying to take any burden off of me- and you should Definitely refund all of the monies you said she paid for the Cremation of our dad- you and I had all arrangements made & you told me since I am his next of blood kin & I am on Disability & live on a fixed Income that the State of Texas would cover his Cremation----those were your exact words to Me Brent --I suppose you wont admit your wrong doing -and retract your false statements-in your reply-
