Wichmann Fargo Funeral Homes and Crematories

I would give them less than 1 star. My brother took his life and had is cremation pre-planned with funeral home. Felt like the funeral home was uncompassionate and didn't know how to deal with suicide or the survivors. They didn't return phone calls and seemed to be out of sorts all of the time, transferring me to a different person each time that didn't know what was going on. Most importantly, they did not let us know ahead of time the date my brother was going to be cremated. I had requested this. This was very important to my sister-in-law for religious reasons. I had to call to find out that he had been cremated two days before. I was furious. Then when it came time to pick up his ashes, I called a few hours before to ensure that they followed thru with another request to fill three small pouches with my brother's ashes. They had not done this.nnI am very disappointed for the lack of compassion and empathy that this funeral home demonstrated to me and my family. I would highly recommend that your staff go thru some sort of training to deal with suicide survivor families appropriately. Compassion and support would be helpful. This is so important because we were broken, shocked and in disbelief. And for the funeral home to make this tragic time so difficult for us is just not acceptable. I would never recommend them to anyone!
