My 12 year old Havenese has been going to Harris Pet for 8 years. I rarely make an appointment with a specific vet because I can’t complain about any of them that have treated her. They are timely, knowledgeable and never over prescribe medications she has needed. Any vet that has seen Roxy has communicated her diagnosis and her needs clearly. The staff has always been considerate and friendly when dealing with my dog and me.

12 years ago, after being misdiagnosed by my former vet,nDr Doug Keenndiagnosed my dogs withnmange. You have been honest, kind, and above all compassionate. My babies were well taken care of by you and staff until the end. .Bless you and yours

Thank you for the wonderful care you provided to not only our German Shepherd Ketty, but to us as well. Fully evaluating the situation and helping us decide on the best option for the care of our dog in what could have been a critical situation without your help. Thank you Dr. Keen, and the many other team members that assisted us today!

I don’t think I can fully describe how heartbroken and disappointed I am after my last visit to Harris Hospital. We brought in our 12 year old cat for a second opinion, because he had fluid around his lungs, and our primary vet suspected lung cancer. First, we arrived 15 minutes earlier (per Harris hospital’s instructions) but had to wait in the car a total of 40 minutes, which made the cat very worried and scared. Second, we scheduled our appointment with Dr. Harris because he was recommended by several friends, but instead our cat was taken by Dr. Faye Orzech without notifying us. When she (Dr. Orzech) called us, she said that she reviewed the x-ray that was done at Harris Hospital and agreed with the first opinion and presented us with two options: to put our cat down or perform a drainage procedure to remove fluid around his lungs and to continue giving him the medication that was already prescribed by our primary vet. We told her that we want to proceed with the second option. 15 minutes later she called us and told us that the drainage procedure was not working out and we need to take our cat to the ER immediately, and that she already notified another hospital in Buffalo Grove, IL that we would be bringing him there. I felt very rushed and worried about the cat, so I did not think to ask why she was sending us all the way to Buffalo Grove, which is almost one hour away from Kenosha, if our cat needed immediate help. As soon as we paid, we started driving to the hospital in Buffalo Grove, IL. On our way there, our cat started gasping for air with his tongue hanging out. He was suffocating, and we felt hopeless, because there was nothing we could do to help him. Instead of going to Buffalo Grove, IL, we decided to go to the clinic of our primary vet in Island Lake, IL because it was closer. When we got there, the cat was really suffering and the only option was to have him put down, but the poor cat suffocated in my arms before our vet could administer the shot. He was a huge part of our life and it was heartbreaking to watch him go this way and also, watching him suffer all the way until the end and not able to help him. I can only guess what went wrong in Dr. Faye Orzech’s office and why she sent us to a hospital that is one hour away if our cat needed immediate care. A doctor’s error likely caused the respiratory distress (our cat was a large strong male, likely stressed out, and mistakes can happen). What is inexcusable is how Dr. Orzech handled the situation by rushing us out of town when our cat needed immediate care, thus throwing even more uncertainty (and suffering for the cat) into the equation.
