My testimonial is different from the others, because I haven’t used Haudenshield Funeral Home for a funeral yet; however, I have high admiration for Rich Krueger and intend to have Haudenshield Funeral Home handle my husband’s and my funeral arrangements when the time comes.  Our children are already aware of our decision and will abide to it.  The reason is that we have witnessed firsthand the empathy, concern, and professionalism Rich portrays.  We attended a wake last year at the beautiful new Haudenshield Funeral home and asked Rich for a moment of his time while we were there.  We discussed possibly planning our funerals with him.  My husband is a veteran, so we asked some questions about military protocol for funerals.  My father’s funeral was handled by the other Cuba City funeral home in the fall of 2017.  We started discussing how the flag for my father’s military service was not given to the oldest offspring (spouse was deceased) as military protocol dictates and that discussion was had with that funeral director previous to the funeral.   I couldn’t help but show my sadness since I was the oldest child.  We told him we want our children treated correctly when the time comes.  He assured us that if more than one child would like the flag, two of them can be draped on the casket and passed on to them. (Even more flags if there are more children.)nnRich’s compassion is just amazing!  He called me at my job one day in late October and asked me to meet him at the Dickeyville cemetery on 10/26/19 in the morning.  We met him there, and not only him, but the Marine Corps Honor Guard was there!  That day was on my Dad’s birthday, and Rich had the Marine Corps at Dad’s gravesite who had a private ceremony and then presented me with a military flag in honor of my father!  How awesome is that!  He saw how I was hurting, as was my husband; and he cared enough to do something about it!  I am forever grateful to Rich and Haudenshield Funeral Home.  My husband and I highly recommend Haudenshield Funeral Home for the top-notch, compassionate services for families at their time of need.

Comforting, compassionate, professional, and perfect are only a few words to describe my recent experience with Haudenshield funeral home. I can not say enough great things about Funeral Directors, Rich and Jill. I did not have any prior interactions with this funeral home until the planning of my husband’s; the planning process is difficult in itself, however both Rich and Jill were there every step of the way. They were so accommodating to all our wishes and Evan’s Funeral was perfect. I found so much peace in just how amazing it was. I highly recommend Haudenshield’s.

Very caring, compassionate, respectful, supportive, and professional are just a few words to describe how amazing Haudenshield Funeral Home and staff are. I would highly recommend them to anyone in need of funeral services or for preplanning services.

Very pleased with the professionalism and compassion that Rich & Jillian gave to me and my family. They really listened to our family and delivered a beautiful service for my loved one. There is no better place to go for real care and perfection when it comes to service. We know they have been in business for almost 100 years and they are family owned, so they know what families need. Our family has been to going to them for years and will continue for generations to come. Thank you Rich and Jillian for all that you do and many blessings to your family. THANK YOU!

They were nice and mildly helpful, so as people they do well. However, after the service I realized there were things that I had the impression of not getting charged for, that we got charged for. They had said, oh we can do this for you, but later that kind offer (which sounded like a favor), cost almost $100. They did give my grandmother (the mother of the deceased) a nice candle for free, assuming it wasn't added to our tab. This may be common practice, and I know that this is a business like everywhere else, but at this time of grieving it seems dishonest to not state facts and costs upfront, especially when funerals cost so much to begin with. They did lay out how much the basic funeral would cost (and we even denied some things to lessen the cost), but it was a few things that came across as nice favors that I was unaware we were getting charged for that I have a problem with.
