Today I had my first experience with my VT-CAN, while most of the staff was very pleasant their care for my cat was absolutely disgraceful.nnI dropped him off this morning so he could be fixed, everything went as planned, until I picked him up this afternoon. I put him in the truck and started the 30 minute drive home. As I was driving down the interstate, he was sleeping pretty heavily and his paw slipped threw one of the holes on his carrier box. As it was sticking out, I noticed his paw was covered in blood. I tried to get a better look and I saw the blood went all the way from his paw to his elbow, and his nail was hanging off.nnI called the clinic right away to see what had happened. They explained that they generally load the cats up into their carriers 10 minutes before scheduled pick up, and they hadn’t noticed any blood at all when loading him up...... WHAT?! So you’re telling me that within a 10 minute time period he had time to rip his nail off, bleed that much, and the blood had time to dry?? Plus all of his bedding in his carrier is clean, not a speck of blood. They told me to turn around and come back which unfortunately was not an option for me as I was already to far out and couldn’t turn around on the interstate. While on the phone with the clinic I did not receive one apology or inquiry as to his well being. More focus was put towards convincing me that they had no idea what I was talking about, then trying to get to the bottom of what happened.nnUpon further investigation once I got home, I noticed that they had given him a bath, which I have never had a clinic or vet give a bath after this type of procedure. They could have their own post-operational procedures, I just found it odd. I was able to clean the blood off and see that he does have a tiny bit of nail still connected, but not much at all. (less than an millimeter long)nnThe injury is on one of his back paws, so I’m really not sure how this happened to him. I could understand something happening to one of his front paws, if he was trying to get out of the carrier, but I really can’t make sense of this.nnOn top of having surgery today, he now has to deal with an injured paw, and it was very scary for me to see my baby in such condition.

Very reasonable place to get animals fixed which everyone should be doing. The staff is very nice and kind. Would highly recommend.

I have taken pets here for spay and neutering. They do a fantastic job and the cost is affordable. They will also include rabies and a distemper vaccine.

Very perfessional people who care about animals. I took my kitten there. To be spayed and will definitely be bringing my other kitten to be fixed when she's big enough.
