Our boy was diagnosed with Lyme nephritis earlier this year. Our primary vet told us that this was fatal. Our internet research told us this was fatal. We asked our vet if there were any treatments at all. She said that she did not believe so, but we could go to peak referral to see it maybe they knew of anymore current treatments or options.nnPeak referral looked at him and said they'd seen dogs much worse off than him recover and go on to have healthy lives. It was expensive though. They told us it would cost about $3,000. That's a lot of money for middle class folks, but he isn't our dog, he's our family. We used the money that we had - all of it. And we still needed to borrow as the estimate then shot up to almost $4,000.nnOver the next month we saw small improvements and the treatment costs kept climbing and climbing. We've begged and borrowed and scrounged for all the money we could find, now well over $7,000. And he is still declining. Peak told us that we could do some more treatments over the course of the next week to see if it improves. Trying to bleed more money out of us, when our primary vet told us that his numbers are so bad that we will be putting him down tomorrow.nnAfter reading the initial diagnosis that lyme nephritis was absolutely terminal, I asked and I asked and I asked if this was really treatable and I was told time and time and time again that he could very well go on to have a healthy life. And every time after they said that they took more and more money from us. The costs have hurt us financially, but not as much as the pain of being told he is in much better shape than dogs who have survived this before to see him only get worse and worse.nnWe are owed an apology. But I don't think I want it, I don't want to hear from them again. And I don't want our money back, but they certainly don't deserve it. They should do the ethical thing and donate all the money we've paid them to a local animal shelter.
Great staff and specialty vets. Our dog had 2 knee surgeries here and is doing fantastic and back to her regular rambunctious self. Other friends have also had great experiences here for cancerous lump removal and eye surgery. Highly recommended!
Very professional and caring. They took care of my little dog who had to have an amputation. She is remarkably running and taking stairs like she never lost a leg. I would recommend them to take care of any of your pets.
The place is great! Kurt Schulz DVM is a caring veterinarian who listen and gave usnGood advice about hip dysplasia . We have a happy German shepherd (Remi).nThe staff is friendly, professional. GoingnBack in 6 months.
A very professional environment. The staff quickly greeted us upon arrival and were very sympathetic with our pet's situation. The establishment was clean and welcoming for both people & pets. They had complimentary snacks and coffee available for the waiting parents.nnIf I were to critique anything, and I won't as this has become the veterinary standard now, I would want to stay with my pet throughout the procedure (non-surgical) to keep them calm, rather than taking them away from the people they trust. This being a standard amongst most clinics in today's world I chose to not reduce their stars.nnGreat place for your pets & yourselves in need of more specialized veterinary care.
