I personally love the aesthetics of the DC Metro and DuPont Circle Station is one of the nicer and neater ones. The station gets busy during rush hour (around 6-8 am and 4-7pm on weekdays) so take note of that. I love that Google Maps now has live updates on when it's coming and if it's delayed.

This is more of a review of the D.C. metro than specifically the Dupont Circle Station, but I chose this one because it was the first one we went through and also is somewhat more of a spectacle. The D.C. metro system is probably one of the better public transit systems I've experienced. Very rarely during our visit was a train late, and we never needed to catch a bus - nearly everything we wanted to do was within a 10 min walk of a metro station, and since we were visiting during the weekend trains were running very frequently. Most stations we went through were clean, not all had elevators for wheelchair access, however. All the passengers we encountered were polite and respectful, definitely uncommon when compared to the more famous NYC subway system.

Among the nicest of major DC Metro stations, this busy stop locates in the heart of DC Embassy Row with its plethora of foreign embassies , prestigious think tanks and luxurious hotels and restaurants sprinkled with a few down to earth eclectic local cafes and pubs (clubs after dark). The roundabout s also a super convenient intersection that connects major DC thoroughfares in all directions.

This station is deep underground. A one-way escalator ride takes about two minutes. I can't even begin to imagine what's it like if the escalators are out of service, which thankfully didn't happen during a recent trip to DC. Pretty typical station otherwise, in terms of amenities. No restroom.
