Sullivan Funeral Care

My mother passed away two days ago. They wanted to charge us almost $3,000 for a cremation. When we decided to switch funeral homes they said they would try to “price match”. Negotiating my mothers funeral was absolutely not what we wanted to do. They charged us almost $600 saying they moved her when it was the coroner who moved her. When we went to the other funeral home Sullivan’s the gentleman Mark informed us that they charged us for nothing. They did not move her body and Sullivan’s picked her up free of charge. After a phone call from Mark they agreed to refund our money. We also found out that when Mark came to get her Bobby Burns called her fat. We were unable to have an actual visitation due to them leaving her on the table instead of keeping her cool. They had her face caked in orange makeup. When they charged us the $600 they did not provide a receipt for what we were charged for. Thankfully the Sullivan’s was so kind and genuinely looking out for our best interest. In our time of mourning to be price gouged and negotiated with is so hurtful and makes everything worse. We were going to pay for the visitation and Mark kindly suggested we reconsider due to the shape Westbrook left her in. He let three of us go see her. This is the kindest most trustworthy funeral home we have ever been to. Thank you Mark for standing up for us and making sure we were taken care of.

Having been friends with Mark Sullivan for many years and being a funeral home owner myself, I have to say that I am most impressed with the facility and the service that Mark has to offer. I find that independent, locally owned funeral homes where the owner is the active director makes the process of the passing of a loved one much easier. I would highly recommend Mark Sullivan and Sullivan Funeral Care for the families of the area.
