This happened several years ago.
In the middle of winter my car broke down while visiting family. I called them, the nearest dodge dealer(I had a dodge truck at the time), for assistance. They told me it would be no problem to get my truck looked at, and that I didn't have to worry about getting back to where I was staying (1 town over, about 13 kms) because they had rental trucks they could lend me. 25 minutes later when the tow truck brought my truck and my tattooed, pierced, green haired self in, somehow there were no cars available to loan me. Nor could anyone drive me back to where I was staying, and suddenly they were "swamped". So I spent the whole day, wandering around a strange town in -30 something weather, waiting to hear about if they "could fit me in" for repairs. Thankfully it turned out to be an easy fix. But I will never forget how their kindness and concern on the phone turned into dismissal once they saw me.
