Copart - Edmonton

This is by far the most organized car auction company I've come across. If it weren't for the high fees they charge (virtual bid fee, gate fee) they'd be the best. That's the only thing preventing me from giving them 5 stars. Hopefully they'll reduce the unnecessary fees (gate fee? Bid fee? Come on) and make the whole buying experience customer friendly. Nonetheless, if you are knowledgeable about cars, this is worth your time and money. Please note: I'm writing this review as a buyer ONLY, I have no experience dealing with them as a seller or claimant.

The new girls there are a lot better then the previously! Only reason for 4 stars at this point is the Copart Politics that you cant do anything about.

My favorite vehicle auction, fantastic staff, pretty good description on vehicles (most of the time) fees are a little high, but worth it in my opinion.

Do your homework and ask questions if you are unsure. The receptionist was very helpful. Big shout out to Joe the tow driver who went above and beyond.

Heres one for you. I get into a collision a few weeks ago, i was taken away by ambulance and did not get a chance to clear out my belongings from my vehicle which is fine I can go get my things from wherever my vehicle Is being taken.. you'd think. so a few days go by and I got notified my vehicle got taken to the police impound,so I head down to the impound & I wanted to grab my belongings at that time but I had way to many loads of tools & other personal belongings to move considering once I got there they told me I only had a few minutes to take a look at the damage & then had to head back out, while looking over my vehicle all my belongings were present. they assured me that my things would be safe there, I then was told my vehicle would be brought to copart, now I had never even heard of copart but heard its a big American company that auctions crashed vehicles for insurance companies, but anyways I call ahead of time to let them know I'm coming to retrieve my things which right off the bat was a nightmare, I sat on hold for over 30 minutes and once I got through to a very unhelpful women she had absolutely no idea if my vehicle was even there, so finally she transfers me to a women who was able to tell me where my vehicle was located in their yard, she also told me id need consent from my insurance company to come and get my belongings which was just a total nightmare considering the woman who helps me at my insurance company was on holidays, while I had her on the phone I asked her if the public had access to my vehicle and she assured me no one was able to access my car besides staff & that I could come clear out my vehicle once permitted. I get to their yard which was just a disgrace, I get to my vehicle and there is a man rummaging through my vehicle, I get closer and he has multiple items of mine in his hand, I politely asked what he was doing and I was pretty much told it was none of my business, the man walked away, I didnt really understand what was going on, I start going through my vehicle and more than half my belongings were gone. I got next to no help or explanation from anyone, I asked the front staff who was rummaging thru my car and everyone just looked at me like a deer in the head lights, one of the ladies told me to put in another claim with my insurance company what a joke, they assure you no one has access to your car then I find someone stealing from me red handed. this place can not be trusted. Very unhelpful.
