Great sales and service. Much better that your typical "used car lot". They are spread a little thin with minimum staff and they are doing the best they can to work for you, within the current structure. Paul is the greatest and the overall experience for the most part has been good. Would recommend.

Best place to get a used vehicle in Chilliwack in my opinion. So easy to talk to, very knowledgeable and great inventory. Defiantly will go back.

I'm going to preface with this statement: I am unfamiliar with the secondhand vehicle industry. I don't know what's common, and what sort of expectations most people have when they shop for a used vehicle. Going into my review: My boyfriend and I purchased vehicles from Atwals Auto at the beginning of the pandemic. I purchased a 2013 Dodge Dart. My boyfriend purchased a 2012 Dodge Avenger. All was wonderful during the transactions. Atwal was friendly, did not come across as predatory. The first issue that cropped up was mine. A week into owning my new Dart, the fuel pump went. Now, I've been told that such an issue is difficult to be prepared for. Fuel pumps kinda just go when they go, at no fault to the dealer. I understand that. The situation itself was a positive one for me, as I phoned Atwal and he immediately helped me get my car towed and repaired. I was shaken, as this car is the newest one I've owned, and the most expensive. It was already breaking down!? But things were handled wonderfully, and I shook off my panic. Not long after that, I took my car into a mechanic for a tune-up. If the fuel pump had gone so soon after purchase, what else was wrong? My AC wasn't working properly, either. Here's a list of what I had to do for my car, very shortly after I bought it: A complete tune-up (all filters, spark plugs, etc needed to get done. The mechanic said it was likely my car had never been through a tune-up before. It was so disgusting - my AC worked after a filter change. How plugged did it need to be!?) My rear brakes had to be replaced, including the rotor. They weren't safe. My back wheels weren't road safe. I had to get new tires immediately. Please keep in mind that for me, all of this immediately after I got the car was overwhelming. I had asked if the car was road safe and had been taken care of. I was told all was in order, that I wouldn't need to do anything for some time. I do not like being lied to. I know cars require upkeep - that's a fact of life. But I do like to think that dealers clean and repair the cars they offer, so when they're sold, the new owners have something that's 100% good to go for some time. Is that not common practice? I would have felt better if I had been told the car desperately needed a tune-up, rear brakes and rotors, and back tires before I had purchased it. Would it have stopped me from buying the car? Maybe. Maybe not. But because of the inaccurate information I was given, and the amount of money I had to put into the car mere days after I had purchased it, I will not return to Atwals for a used car again. My trust is broken. That is my experience. I know now that it's common for people to take prospective cars to a mechanic for a diagnostic. I didn't realize that I should have done so - my fault for being naive, I suppose. As for my boyfriend's experience, it's even worse than mine. His car has not been reliable since nearly the first month of owning the thing. It started out as an overheating issue. So we took it to the mechanic recommended by Atwal (same one who did my tune-up and brakes), who simply added coolant. A few days later, car was overheating again. We took it back - turns out the car needed a new temperature gauge. A few days later AGAIN, car was overheating. We took it to a different mechanic, who said the radiator hose was cracked and the temperature gauge system needed 2 gauges, whereas the Atwal-recommended mechanic only installed 1. Now we've finally had all of that repaired, but the new mechanic has warned us that due to the overheating issues, others may crop up. My problem with Atwals is this: why did he not know the car had these issues? Does he not thoroughly go through his cars before selling them, or does he hose 'em down, make sure they make it down the road, and then sell them as fast as possible? Is this normal? Expected? I don't know, so forgive me if I seem ignorant. My review is just a reflection of the emotional and financial upheaval my boyfriend and I have gone through since purchasing our cars from Atwals Auto.
