Meritxell Books

When we first walked in I was unsure this could be the good find we hoped. It's kind of a mess, with books stacked everywhere including in boxes that look like they are there to stay. But once we started poking around our family of five found a treasure for each of us to enjoy on the rest of our BC road trip! The kids section could use an overhaul (all quite old and the area was dark so hard to read titles) but the great BC section in front more than makes up for it! The owner was jolly and we left happy with a big stack of books, always the indicator of a successful bookstore visit.

I don’t live in Nakusp but I visit almost every summer. This book shop is always the number one place we MUST go to. The books are stacked to the ceiling covering every available surface, and the variety of them is huge. I have some many great memories of this quirky little shop, and it feels like a home rather than just a store. The owner is a jolly old man, and is the friendliest shop owner in Nakusp. All of my favourite books come from this store; I remember each and every one, and which shelf I grabbed it from. There are real treasures in that store, and it will soon become every bookworm’s favourite destination. I could spend hours there.
